Challenge Me a Christmas Card with Michelle Lupton & Friends

I am so excited to be back with this Challenge again with Michelle. I have participated in this challenge a few times now and look forward to being asked each year thinking about what to challenge Michelle to.

This year I chose Using the same stamp; Using Distress Oxide on the card base, then using colouring with pencils for the stamped image.

Yes might as well jump right in on my first card after such a long break. Really give myself a challenge, then as the date got closer I started to panic as I haven't made a card in so long and each time I went in the craft room I just couldn't get past just sitting and looking around. Organising, reorganising, swatching that was easy.

But luckily Michelle's invitation got me motivated.

I really pushed myself here, as I stamped the image first in grey ink using the Misti. I stamped on Multimedia card as I like that it barely warps with lots of water on it and also works with pencils and/or copics. I then loosely added Distress Oxides letting the colours run and spread. Boy was this hard, I am such a control freak wanting the colours only where they are meant to be.

Anyway once I was happy with the layers of Distress Oxide I left it to dry then re-stamped this time white heat embossing. I then cut the piece in half, using one half for this card and saving the other half or another card.

I bought this stamp set last year from Simon Says and it arrived too late for last Christmas so this is its first time out of the packet.

I added the panel to a white card base and added a strip of silver washi, a die cut 'Merry Christmas' from Stamplorations and then a bit of sparkle here and a bit of sparkle there with some sweet gems.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out and cant wait till to see what Michelle has done. Please go and check it out too and if you have time leave some love.

I'm still awol from the Flower Challenge and luckily the Blog Coordinator  is so amazing and the Design Team create so much beautiful inspiration that I dont feel Im letting anyone down. I am hoping this post will be enough to get me blogging more but I cant promise this at the moment. So please be patient with my grief and stick around cause I will be back and miss you all.
