Sending Hugs your way

I am really enjoying these butterflies so you will have to put up with another post using this particular butterfly. In this instance I have stamped and white embossed on a 2" inchie square. it is made of thick white like cardboard, not sure what the material is but I bought a pile of 1" and 2" inchies in white, grey, black and bone and I am finally using them. I think there is so much potential for these and I have had them for so long I am ashamed....... nah this happens in craft.

Anyway stamped on the 2" inchie and then white embossed. I decided to use copics, they didn't really blend well on this material but I got there in the end. Once finished I felt that the image looked great and didn't need much to go with it. So I centred towards the top of the card and found a sentiment that 'fitted' with the stamped image. The yellow cardstock is textured so again my Miss Misti worked her miracle and even though I stamped 4 times before everything was stamped perfectly not a spot out of place.

Will enter this in the Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring Challenge Day 9

realised its a butterfly and different types of colouring and material to last one so might as well add to the Addicted to CAS: Challenge #65 - Butterfly

hope you enjoy your visit.

Happy Birthday Watercolour butterfly

Finally started painting these butterflies from Hero Art. I love them and sat there late into the wee hours trying different colour combinations. White embossed the butterfly onto water colour paper, saturated the image and used my watercolour pens (Japanese SAI) then put more water on my brush and tapped tapped to spread and blend. This one is blue and fuchsia. Looks so pretty in real life. Click to enlarge to see how pretty the butterfly is.

Please Note: I have found that to get these watercolour pens to work well the paper needs to be really wet and it does start to get little lumps pulling from the watercolour paper if worked too much. I found that go light with the paint it goes a long way and more a patting than pulling the brush in strokes. This was with Tim Holtz watercolour paper and just these watercolour pens.

Fussy cut out the butterfly and put onto a piece of textured cardstock so didn't feel it needed much more. Stamped 'Happy Birthday' again perfect stamping with Miss Misti then to finish it off a couple of sparkly gems. I love these gems.
I've done a few different cards but just want to add this one for the Watercolor Blog Hop/Pretty Pink Posh before it closes. and will also add to
The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 8 (one day ahead but away this arvo to mum and dads so no chance to put up later and well it was the wee hours so tomorrow really!!)

Just saw another Challenge I really should go in before I leave. I think this is CAS enough. Adding to Addicted to CAS: Challenge #65 - Butterfly

Hope you enjoy your visit.

Sweet Friend

This stamp is from Technique Tuesday and I love it for its simple sweetness. Stamped and white embossed on watercolour paper, but then coloured quickly with copics. I needed a card in a hurry and copics can get me there without the worry of overrun. So coloured and outlined in pale blue.

Die cut the watercolour paper with the stitches die that added stitches to both sides. Then repeated with yellow cardstock which is cut just a fraction smaller than the card base. Added some sheer ribbon with a lovely satin band each side. Die cut the 'sweet' in gold and a couple in white and layered.

Stamped 'friend' again at the last minute so little Miss Misti came in handy again. Lined up and stamped about three times it is textured cardstock which would never stamp well just once.

Finished off with my usual 3 dots - enamel this time round.

Hope you enjoyed your visit.

The Good Sister or the Evil One

This is the fourth image from the same artist that I am still trying to remember her name. Sorry, it will come to me.

Anyway don't you just love the look of this young girl and I had just bought the stamp I have used with it and thought it was perfect. I was given a small packet of Photo frame thingies and decided the coloured image would look perfect inside it. Only problem was it is glossy so of course I stamped with black ink and it smeared, then the next one I did something else wrong so finally got it right on the third one - only one left now.But I love the look as though its a selfie  and she is sending to her sister. Don't know whether to cut the card down and just put something inside or add something to the from on the green cardstock so have left for now - it will come to me.

Copic colouring, of course and her hair was all black so thought a bit of deep red might work. was happy with the result.

So now I am all caught up and need to work out what I will do for the next few days. Love doing this challenge, its a great way to restock the cards and experiment and get back into Inktense and the different watercolour types.

Will be adding this to Kathy's 30 Day Colouring Challenge Day 6

I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Watercolour 'With Sympathy'

Here's the other that was set up and forgot to post.

Finely finished a flower using the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolours. I used the same colours that Jennifer  Mcguire used when she originally showed how to use this stamp with the Kuretake Watercolours.

Ohhhh my goodness, they are so so creamy to use and once you get going it all just comes together. I cut the watercolour paper with the stitched die then a blue cardstock with the next size up. They fit nicely on the white card base. Decided I could use this as a Sympathy card not that I need one now but I have non so thought it would be good to start with this.

Another sentiment stamped using the Misti, by golly gosh I love that little device, it stamps so beautifully and you can go back again and again to get great coverage and colour.

I love using the Altenew Stamp and will probably get the die so I can cut the flowers out.

Anyway I thought this would be good for Kathy's 30 Day Colouring Challenge Day 5

and also for the Watercoloring Blog hop/Pretty Pink Posh which is currently running. Cant believe the talent thats on show there.

I hope you enjoyed your visit.

A little something just for you.

Nothing like making a post and forgetting to post it.

I love the digital images, there are four in the set and I have made  cards with two of them but had left the other two just sitting there. I wish I could the name of the artist to send you thee as they really are beautiful to use but I bought quite some time ago and my memory fades....
Finally coloured this one in. Boy I love these colours together, not that you will notice in the next couple of posts hehehe
Okay very simple, copic colouring and using the '0' colourless blender to smooth out the transition from colours, never knew to do this till Kathy showed us. Very very clever.
Cut out the piece then just cut the green card stock slightly larger then purple card stock for small card. Sentiment 'A little Something Just For You' stamped with the Misti which was brilliant as the cardstock is textured. Placed each layer this way and that so I don't have to worry about 'crooked eye'.
Isn't she just beautiful.

Hope you have enjoyed your late visit.

Thanks for all you do.

This is a real quick post.
I decided to do a bit of watercoloring with my Inktense Pencils. Lightly coloured with the three pencils then with a wet brush blended the colours together till I was happy. If I added extra colour I just took it from the tip of the pencil with the brush. I love the Inktense pencils but you need to remember when you start working the water in you need to finish what you are doing because when the colour dries it is SET, like cement. Its permanent which is brilliant if you want to do another colour on top as it doesn't reactivate.

Anyway decided to you my Thanks die from Simon Says cut out my pieces as I wanted to use the negative in this instance to show off the lovely colours of the watercolour panel. Put it all together and reapplied there were a couple of itty bitty pieces missing from the loops of the 't' and the 's' but after turning the place up side down I decided it didn't matter. A five minute card became a two hour search and rescue.

Placed a piece of glittery silver paper on the white card base then attached the watercolour panel with foam dimensional tape. Before I struck this panel on I added the 'for all you do' stamped sentiment.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoyed.

Happy Birthday All in Yellow

This is a special birthday card for a friend of Elysha's. She, like Elysha, has Down Syndrome and is deaf. She also uses sign language like Elysha.

This image is from Mo's Digital Pencil and I loved it when she drew it as it is a very special sign.

The little girl here is signing "I LOVE YOU" and this is a sign used both in America & Australia. These two countries use sign language that differs greatly and our sign language is so different as to compare chalk to cheese but we do sometimes share a sign. This is one and a very personal sign. I have four children and they all know how to do the sign and use it. It can be signed without saying anything and be very personal. Elysha when she was little would make the hand shape then come and put her finger tips against mine in the same shape. It was a very special moment, oops sorry don't mean to drift off there.

Anyway it was requested that I make the card and do everything in yellows as she loves yellow. these are all yellow copics but some look more orange and of course I had to contrast the dress.
I don't know what it is with the stitched die cuts but always when I attach the cardstock it looks ripply even though I have put plenty of tape down to attach to the card.

Stamped Happy Birthday sentiment using my Misti and have to say this is the best this stamp has ever turned out as I was able to stamp a couple of times to fill gaps. Again coloured with copics. Balloons - there was one heart balloon with the imagined I thought I would add some extra, cut out vellum and coloured the back of the vellum with copics.
Then I just couldn't leave well enough alone. the main balloon was outlined so smarty here thought I will draw around the vellum balloons in black marker, yes it looked stupid but too late to turn back so I did what any crafty person would do I added glitter gel pen to outline in yellow and orange. Drew on the extra balloon strings.
Took the photos then noticed yes I can see the glue behind one balloon so I will add more balloons I cut out later and make it an even bigger bunch but wanted to finish for now to add to
Kathy's 30 Day Colour Challenge  This card is for Day 2 of the challenge.

I hope you enjoyed your visit.

The Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge Day 1

I could not miss out on participating in this brilliant challenge again.

Will definitely have days where I will have to multi post as so much is happening with mum and dad right now that I am in Canberra more than here but at least I can take my colouring gear with me and colour down there in-between whatever is going on. Probably won't be cards but just the colouring in preparation.

But I have managed to make card after watching Kathys' Copic Colouring.

Here is my card

One picture is very slightly angled, sorry I thought I had gone more angle but it was just to show you that I have cut and coloured an extra layer for the wings for better effect. I love the colours I used which were as close as I had to what Kathy used. My copics are a bit limited. Please click on the butterfly card to read the lovely quote and see the detail on the wings of the butterfly. I used glossy accents to give some little raised areas on the butterfly wings. Also tried doing as Kathy does with white dots but I was too cautious as you can barely see them and on the dark trim of the butterfly the white faded from the copic underneath.

Okay as I am in Australia it looks like I am already a day behind with the challenge so I will have to double up to catch up.

Hope you enjoy your visit.

Bunch of Us saying 'Hello'

Thought that might get your attention. I wanted badly to participate in the Fusion Challenge which was using this beautiful image for inspiration.
I love love loved the colours and while away at mum and dads it kept popping into my head. Back today and didn't think I would make it but I think I can just squeeze it in.

This is the card at a slight angle, not much different to the front on  but its late and dark and the best I can do. I hope you can pick up on the colours I can see. I can't remember where I got this image but its been there forever and finally I coloured it in. I reckon it is so cute, all squished up on top of each other. Hanging around just to say 'Hello'.

All coloured in with copics right down to the absolute last drug of Acid Yellow copic which I have not been able to get refill for. For some reason it always appears to be out of stock here in Australia and too expensive to ship just one from America but the main thing is it hung in there for this card. Used the main elements I think - yellow, blue, grey for the Hello and white line and background.

So here we go linking up to Fusion Card Challenge :Wedding Bells

Hoping I got it right and didn't have to go wedding but with the colours as I have.

Hope you enjoy your visit.
