Hoppy Easter

Check out this stamp, its one I have had for years and I have used it before. I only have one other Easter stamp set, obviously I am not a big Easter card person.

And of course with the sentiment with these rabbits it can be used for many other ideas.
This one I stamped in greys with a dash of pink for ears, nose and cheeks. Bit of grass drawn in.

Stickles for their tails and all done. The sentiment below them comes with the stamp and I added the ' 'Hoppy Easter' sentiment from a Mama Elephant stamp set that I have finally cracked open.

Then I just had to do it again but this time with a blue boy bunny and a pink girl bunny and their little baby bunnies that all ended us with their colours nicely mixed. they look so cute, I love it. Copics colouring as with the grey rabbits and both finished off with these neat looking pale green stars.

Don't they look wonderful with their Stickle tails and the mixed colours. Perfect little Easter rabbits.

Such easy cards to put together.

didnt take the option of Masking

Sadly Fan-Tastic Tuesdays is closing at the end of this month. I have enjoyed participating in their challenges and am sad to see them go.

Thanks for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

Hugs & Kisses & Rainbow Wishes

Theres a few rainbow challenges around so I decided to do a card. First card I stamped all the flowers in a row, some higher, some lower and a little masking so some touching. Coloured, then added Glossy accents to the top of the flowers. Then I added white gel pen to top then to stitching down the flowers.
Looking good then I decided to do a spotty green background, with lots of greens mixed together with some tendrils coming upward as the flowers were along the bottom - no wrong, mistake, crap, bugger. Sorry I hate when I overdo it. Was about to throw it out then thought "cut out the flowers ands if you can use them".

They cut out fine, I got a new card base and just laid them out till I was happy with how they looked. A couple were not full flowers because or original design so I had to do a bit of manipulating here and there. When I was happy with it, I used some Press N Seal to hold them in place, turned it over, added some dots of glue and turned back over and attacked to card - made it so easy.

I added the sentiment with my Misti and a few acrylic dots. Finished and I now had a rainbow card and only scrapes in the bin.

I would like to enter this in A Blog Named Hero Challenge: Rainbow Magic
The flowers are Hero Art

I would also like to enter at:

Sorry if anyone is getting this more than once, I was too late for one challenge and then found a new one to check out.

Okay thats it for now. Off to the Chiro for a bit of manipulation.

Hope you enjoyed your visit and you come again soon.

Sparkle & Shine

Could this card be any busier mmmm???
IRL it just sparkles and shines and really looks brilliant. I saw the Challenge at Simon Says for Monday and it was make your own background.

So I knew just what I wanted to do. Got out my star stamps, I don't have them in the original packing so I'm not 100% but I think they are Verve stamps but they are no longer available. Now to admit this is the first time I have used them, I know its terrible. I can lie and say the Borrowers just returned them after taking them 3 or 4 years ago but nahhh I cannot lie :) I just put them away and every time I looked and then forgot them.
But now I will use them lots and lots as they are so beautiful and will make beautiful Christmas cards.

Check out those wonderful patterns in them. I stamped with clear ink then white embossed making sure I used my 'NEW' EK Embossing Powder Tool (of course that was after I had a major spill of contents but I'll keep that for another time I think). Okay so white embossed all the stars, using Hero Art Fine White Embossing Powder.
Then I decided to add colours teal/purple/blue and slightly darker blue. Love how it turned out and have enough left over for another card. Of course I sprayed on Pearl Mist so we have a lovely shimmer.

Not sure you can see the shimmer here with the camera flash hitting the acetate.  I then decided to make the piece into a shaker card as I felt there was little I could add to this background.

I die cut with the double stitch die so I could use both sides with the stitching. I added some acetate from packaging to the top layer. Glued down the centre piece, added double sided foam tape around the base, two layers, left the tape cover on the final layer so I could dust down the sticky sides with my EX tool. Added a pile of sequins and beads, glued a few in place so there would always be some floating around. secured the top layer on.

I cut the Sparkle & Shine die cuts with some silver cardstock but its not a mirror finish silver so actually looks grey here. Glued the sentiments in place and its all finished.

Time to enter this into:

'Thanks' butterfly card.

I am so pleased with how this card turned out but I'm not sure these photos are doing justice to it. Still away from home till tomorrow.

This was using the same die as I used about a week ago. Simon Says Butterfly die and 'thanks' is a Penny Black die. Loving this die, comes as 'thanks' and 'thank you'. the thank you are two separate words . Long and very slim line, cut perfectly each time.

The outline of the butterflies and the 'thanks' are both cut from a piece of watercolour paper that I coloured with a mix of pinkish Inktense pencils then I went over the light colouring with a paint brush that was wet. Kept going over till I was happy with the blending and now of course I have a collection of butterflies in this pink mix to use on another card.

This has all been done on a piece of dark grey cardstock so it really looks wonderful.
Something I have found with this cardstock too is that when attaching the die cuts a) they have a bit more trouble adhering due to the weave on the front of the cardstock but b) once the glue has dried it  will come off very easily with the glue stick remover without making any marks. (Just ignore that dot you can see near the 't' from the thanks it is since removed).

If you look carefully you can see I have used vellum butterflies this time. First I stamped a pretty flower stamp that I have from Hero Art. Its a background looking stamp but only small and was perfect for this. I actually had to die cut twice at different angles to get the full length.

I also learnt that white embossing comes off when die cut so I had lots of little specks on my cutting board and on the dies. So I had a bit of cleaning up to do after, next time for something like that maybe I should put down a plain layer on top of the embossed piece to stop the flecks becoming hard to remove from the die.

Even though that happened it was worth it as they really look beautiful.

All the butterflies that have full wings are attached with glue just in the centre whereas the butterflies that are incomplete are fully attached to the card base.

I then glued on the 'thanks' sentiment and some sequins but I'm not happy with the sequins. I tried to make them random but its just not working for me. They are very pretty little ones in iridescent colours.

I started writing this this morning as I am baby sitting and it has taken me the best part of all day, ahh the joys of children. Now I know why our bodies say 'no more' after a particular time in life. Being 3 and 1 years respectively I am feeling every minute of today. How did I bring up all of mine, I have forgotten, I must have been wonder woman at some stage in my life lol. having the air conditioning not working today and extreme heat as though its the middle of summer not the start of autumn doesn't help.

Only 50 minutes till I start the drive home (not that 'Im counting okay!!). Yes this post took from 6am when I started and thought I will get in before the kids are up hahahaha till 3.21pm to finish it now.

Ok now to enter a challenge or two:

Although I haven't stamped on the card I did stamp on the vellum that was die cut for the butterflies so hope this is ok.

I'm pretty sure butterflies hit the mark.

Thanks for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

Thanks, you are better than Summer sunshine.

i know what your thinking 'Ohhh my goodness hope Aileens' not going to post six cards to make up for the six days missed'. Nah don't worry just this one more for today.

I so enjoy using this stamp set and the fact that it comes with the dies as well makes it so easy to use. I stamped and embossed with white embossing powder onto watercolour card stock.

I have used my Peerless watercolours (getting low in some of my colours and since the Borrowers have taken my top up sheets I may have to get back into my Distress Inks. They are wonderful paints to use and so easy to take when travelling or babysitting. Ahh well you never know maybe those little fella's will return them now I have mentioned them :)
Of course after watercolouring I then gave the flowers a good little coating of Wink of Stella but cant quite manage to catch the glitter here).

Something I didn't notice till I was taking the photos was that I had forgot to put a thin line of grey under the vase to ground it. But I will fix that when I go home.
I love that these flowers come with the dies as the Tim Holtz watercolour paper is that bit thicker and harder to fiddle around with for fussy cutting.
I have used a 'thanks' die and cut in gold foil cardstock and then stamped this sentiment 'you are better than summer sunshine' which I think is a wonderful compliment to a friend.
The black acrylic dot is not really black but red. Yes it's really red and I added it so I had all the colours of the rainbow which is really important according to the rules of 'Elysha'. 'You have to have all the colours mum' so I added the red dot that actually now looks black.

I am hoping I have interpreted this challenge correctly using the layers of die cut watercolour paper etc for the card.

Its been awhile so its nice to catch up here again.

Thanks for coming to visit and I hope to see you again soon.

Happy Birthday

I cant believe its been nearly a week since I posted last. Migraines have had me in their grips for the last four days so that was most of the day time hours gone with drugs and sleep.
Today I am doing double shift babysitting, today and tomorrow so staying at my sons as its silly to travel all the way home to then set off again at 6am the next morning so photos you are seeing are not that great as I have had to improvise.

I made the cards a few days ago and then never got to photograph or post. Hopefully you can see what I have done.

This card is for a couple of challenges the first being the Muse Challenge

Check out this wonderful Inspiration by Natasha Kara, actually go check out her blog as well. The inspiration there is unbelievable: I Dream in Colour. Also you will need to go check out the rest of the cards at the Muse Challenge (link below).
I took inspiration with the balloons, floating elephant (I reckon he looks like he is lifting off!) and soft background.

Here I have used my Elephant from (bugger I'm not home and gone blank will have to fix later) and instead of putting with the big ballon that comes with this cutie I have used a Hero Art Balloons stitched stamp. There are three balloons, the star and two circular ones so I masked twice to add extras. Now I have to admit I have had this set for a loooooooooong time and yes it is NBUS, but not any more.
So I masked, then coloured with copics but fairly solid colouring with only a little extra with the same colour for light and shadow. I then decided the star balloons needed Glossy accents after I had added Wink of Stella to them all.
Copic coloured the elephant rather lightly then decided to do spots instead of colouring the whole skyline.

May have been a little heavy handed with the spots, just kept thinking ohh and this blue and this one (I have found I have twice as many blues as any other colours so I must love blues). This was another technique we were shown in the Online Copic Colouring Classes and I have seen lots of cards with them, maybe not as heavy as mine forgive me if not CAS enough.

Anyhoo added a thin strip of silver to each side on the card for a bit of bling and added the birthday sentiment with the Misti. Had to be a small one (I will learn one day to plan these things better).

So I would like to add this to:

As I have used a Hero Art stamp set will also add this to:
I have managed to cover all the colours of the rainbow here.

Also like to enter this in Darnells' brilliant NBUS challenge where you use up all those things that have been sitting waiting to be inked, die cut, painted etc.

Please make the time to go check it out, enter up to three times. This is my second card for this challenge and also to look at all the wonderful talent out there.

Last challenge:

This is another brilliant challenge as they will always take any card that is made for someones birthday, you don't have to follow the 'topping' if you don't want to. Lots of brilliant cards there too.

Actually its one of those days that you look at the challenges I have linked to and they are regular ones I go to and I always enjoy the inspiration offered by not only the DT's but also everyone entering.

Thanks so much for coming by and I hope you come again soon.

You are tutu sweet!

I needed a birthday card for a little girl and had coloured this little dancer last colouring challenge. I decided to use her and also use the idea we had been shown from the Copics Colouring Online Class by using the same colour copics to colour a layer of cardstock so they could match. I was totally wrapped with the look once I had finished playing around.

The image is a Mo's Digital Pencil one. I have coloured her with pink copics and added glitter with a glue pen and loose glitter for both the skirt and the headband.

I die cut the image with a new NBUS Stitched Circle Die and another layer of plain white card stock with the next size up. I coloured about a half inch in with the palest colour then in four sections add a slightly darker then darker again with the pinks blending between each addition. I glued each layer flat and finished off with another NBUS die - the trail of stars across the top.
I then stamped 'you are tutu sweet!' which was a combination of single words and the 'tutu sweet' word from a Mo's stamp set that I have. 'Happy Birthday' stamped inside.

Link this up with:

Darnell is having her 6th Challenge. I love going in these challenges as its a great way to use stuff that hasn't been used before. You know that stuff you leave sitting there cause I am going to use that one of these days. This is the perfect opportunity, mind you I reckon she could have a daily challenge for a year and I might be lucky enough to use half of my mount NBUS.
For this challenge I have used 2 dies that haven't been used before. The challenge runs till 10th March and all are welcome to participate just remember you mush use something that hasn't been used before.

Thanks for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.
