Let Your Dreams Take Flight

I actually have three cards in this post as I am so far behind in what I wanted to do and don't want to be inundating you with post after post after post so will maybe do two today.
This post has a Unicorn Balloon and a couple of cards using the same Sentiment.

For this card I have used a digital black and white image and coloured it with Copics and added the string for the balloon and and few extra stars.

When I saw this unicorn on another blog I just thought it was so cute so I purchased him and a balloon reindeer but thats for another post. I couldn't resist colouring in the colours of the rainbow. This is Elysha's favourite colouring style so I know she will love this card/ After colouring I added a blue outline then added dots to the outline. I coloured the stars with gold gel pen and the unicorn horn is also gold gel pen.

Finished it off with the black string for the balloon and the  stamped
sentiment. Thought this card would be idea for a few challenges I wanted to cover this week.

This next card is for another couple of challenges and was a real quicky. I actually did the three cards within 30 minutes, some days it all just falls into place and being single layer without embellishments it makes for a quick card.

I love this sentiment and wanted to make it the feature of the card so stamped it first. Then looked at my other stamps for an idea. I was thinking human and looked at Gus as I have a few of grumpy old Gus but I had just received this stamp which is in a set of this cute little chickie in different poses and with sentiments. He is from Stamping Bella and I love him. Its that real 'oooh well I just cant do anymore look', for me anyway.

I have only used the stamp from this set and the sentiment is from Serendipity Stamps.
I have coloured the chickie and bricks with copics.

No other embellishments as I liked what I have.

This next card uses the same sentiment but this time I have put it with my Hamster.

I coloured the hamster with copics using lots of dots to give the illusion of fur.

He is so cute and I have done him with this sentiment before but this time I fussy cut him and mounted on some dimensional foam.

There you go quick cards and quick post.

Wishing You Silly Love Songs

I decided to do one more card before hitting the sack and this was a quick simple card
that turned harder do to some silly mistakes.

This is a very thin shaker card with the layer only one layer of foam tape so it will be easy to post and didn't need much in the way of sequins.

I have used a background that is a blend of yellows and oranges then finished off with some daubs of gold from my Silks. Its a beautiful look and the photos just don't do it justice. The piece is attached to the card front then the die cut panel with the music notes attached via the acetate is laid on top.

I glued some sequins in place and just laid the rest on top of the orange panel before attaching the top layer.
If you look closely you can see that the die cut music notes are actually cut from music pattern paper.

Then don't look too closely to the sentiment, my decision to stamp it twice, well of course the panel had moved ever so slightly, and so its slightly off so looks blurry.

It is was actually the second panel, the first one I had put all together and then thought to stamp and of course I picked the longest sentiment and it wouldn't stamp properly due to the foam tape under the panel.
So I hand corrected then looked at the card and realised that I had stamped on the card up side down. So I made the front panel again. I am fighting not to do it again as I look at the edges and they look grungy for some reason and that double stamping is really bugging me. I'll go to bed and sleep on it.

Merci Beaucoup

Sorry for the lack of action here. Have been commenting on blogs but no cards. Migraines made the week a hard one with only small periods of pain free time. Gone now till the next lot so I have lots of catching up to doooooooo.

This is a one layer card. The die cut was watercolour paper that I cut with the rectangle die that adds stitch marks on both the positive and the negative. It was a scrap that I had stamped and heat embossed this little cutie. A stamp from Lili of the Valley and I think my first little girl stamp.

I have watercoloured with Zigs and water, very quick piece and lots of colour. I then stamped the sentiment 'Merci beaucoup' which is the only French thing I could find in my massive collection of stamped images and sentiments.

I think she looks like she is offering a flower with a thank you to someone. Now you might notice that thin line of gold either side on the watercoloured image and that might lead you to believe it is another layer. Well its not... let me explain.
When I die cut the watercolour piece and the card base, I didnt notice until I had cut, the watercolour piece too short on one side so it was slightly too small to stick back together without a gap.

I got some gold tape I have that I attached under the watercolour piece then slotted the watercolour piece back into place with a very slight gold line each side. I also used a stitched die to add the line of stitches to the end of the watercolour piece.

Have I confused you...... I wont dare read to see if it makes sense. Just trust me it is inset and one layer and Im happy I was able to save it.

Twofer One Post

Since I had already done one post today I decided to add these two cards together and hope I don't decide they could go to the same challenge.
This first one I love.....cause its flowers and white embossing and watercolour and fussy cutting and I just fell in love with it as it came together.
The flowers are from Kylie from Happy Little Stampers in Australia. So that means for those using the American dollar or UK pound this set which is called Doodle Flowers is $20 in Australia so only $15.30 American and 11 pound UK (sorry couldn't find the symbol on my mac for pound lol). I don't sell them or get commission just think they are so pretty and easy to colour.

I watercoloured with my zigs bringing in the colours for each flower. I did two pinks one light and one with dark, they are pink and not as red as they look here.

For the stems I borrowed stems from my Winnie and Walter floral set then stamped with lemonade distress ink and coloured with copics. Also did the grass with copics.

I did this card initially through the wonderful inspiration from the

This card is so pretty, I love the stand alone flower and the two tones of  colour and of course the beautiful pink colours. I tried one flower but it wasn't working I wanted that contrast of colour and thats why the second flower is nearly invisible there, I wanted that change in pink to give the two different main colours, the beauty of the pink.

Because the flowers were fussy cut and layered I decide no bling was needed. Hope you like it.

This next card was one I had to do a bit of thinking about.

I wanted to join in with the

Then I remembered this stamp from my 12 Days to Christmas stamp set.

Love him, my cat in the diamond ring and makes a perfect 'different engagement card'.
Coloured the ring in with my 'gold' gel pen and the diamond with my silver glitter pen and the """" bits with silver gel pen.

Then I added the swirly loop from a Papertrey stamp set. When I coloured the cat I did him with a combination of copics and pencils and made the dot of his eyes a bit heavier and also so they look crossed, problem is he's smiling so he doesn't look too crosseyed. Added the sentiment 'Woohooo! to the front and inside ' Congratulations on your Engagement.

Additional Challenges:

Flowers are HLS products.

Woohooo Engagement card.

the watercoloured flowers.

The watercoloured flowers, my favourite way to colour
is Zigs and water.

Hello Sunshine Card

I mentioned before I was going to try entering more challenges that are sketches or colour based so this is my start.  The colour challenge is to use blue, green and yellow so I decided to do the butterfly that is from a Stampendous set of three large butterflies.

I used my Zigs and water, using yellow and blue and then blending those so I ended up with a pretty green to finish the colours needed. I die cut with the stitched rectangle die that cuts the image layer and the frame.

I then cut a piece of yellow cardstock the same way used a piece of plain paper on the back to join the layers back together. Finished it off with a stamped 'hello' and a die cut sentiment 'sunshine'. Have to say this sentiment is one of my favourites as it has the dot attached for the 'i'. I wish they all did that, such a killer on the eyes trying to find the itty bitty little buggers. You can see a bit of buckling there as the watercolour paper warped slightly but that will settle in time.

I decided I didnt want to attach bling or shimmer, I liked this just as it is.

Thanks for All the Things You Do

I was going through my flower stamps looking for something to jump out at me.
No not a spider or a grub, some inspiration and this stamp did it. Also the Uniko Challenge is flowers and its about to end and you all know I love nothing better than a challenge like running out of time.

First I did a bit of stamping and masking then I decided to play with a new colour combo for me. So these flowers are done with R81 R83 R85 & R89 but I stayed with my favourite green mix YG01 YG03 & YG17.

I was so happy with the colouring I decided it didnt need any outline in grey
or blue just leave it as it is.

Finished off with a 'thanks' sentiment die cut in gold mirror cardstock
and a couple of pink enamel dots. I put a third one on but it just didnt look right so I went with the theory 3;2;1 3 flowers 2 gems and 1 sentiment and I don't think thats really any theory just
jumped into my head so I went with it.

I love it, and I love the colours so I will go to bed once I have linked this up, a happy little vegemite.
