Online Card Class - Copics Day 1 -part 2

All finished and ready for Day 2.
I tried to use different colour combinations with the boxes to what I used for the balloons just to give myself more choices. I was quite pleased with all the different ranges I put together.

Even put together a grey package. With most of these I only used two colours for the ribbon and shadow. It was fun practicing and now I have a number of different combinations to refer to when colouring with my copics. As I said yesterday you can tell I like brighter.

Thanks for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

Before I go I just want to say thank you to all those people who have become my followers or visit me often, I truly appreciate your comments when you visit.

It always brings a smile to my face, sometimes a chuckle and sometimes I have to share your comments with my mum cause she is fascinated that people come to look at my cards and leave wonderful comments. Even people overseas. Yes my mum is totally computer illiterate and now she has Alzheimer's she seems even more fascinated.

BELIEVE in your Dreams

I decided I wanted to participate in the CAS(E) this sketch Challenge and so played around with an Altenew Flower stamp set and my zigs.

First I cut out a circle with my cuttlebug then used the circle to mask the majority of the card front.
I then stamped each flower twice, once each side of the card and white embossed (will probably have a go with gold and silver embossing next time as I like the look here but would like to define the flowers more.

I did a bit of stamping and embossing and masking as I went adding only a flower at a time so as not to smear the embossing powder. Once I had finished that I used my Zig watercolour pens (Canson watercolour paper)

Once I was happy with the intensity I added Wink of Stella for sparkle as one does.

I finished off picking the sentiment and curved it on my stamp block. It fit perfectly.

Feel I have followed the sketch fairly well.

On-line Card Class - Copics - Day One

Ruth from 'Crafting While the Baby Naps' and I decided to do the Online copics Card Class together to make sure we completed it. I won the Class from The Daily Marker and Ruth purchased hers and we still hadn't gotten around to watching. This way we hope to learn together. Ruth's in England and I'm in Australia so our clocks are a bit wacky but we should get there.

If you have come here from Ruth's blog you will notice she has done a lot more than me and if you go to check out Ruth's blog you will see she has done a lot more than me and even made some wonderful cards.

After seeing Ruths inspiration I thought I should do some cards too but my hands basically packed it in after I did the balloons. I never got to the gifts and hope to do those tomorrow. I don't have any little ones keeping me on my toes either but I did have a few other things to do (including council spring clean  pick up organised for the next day so all had to go out today) and my hands packed it in.

I have osteoarthritis in both hands and usually the medication I take keeps it under control, so I can talk to Elysha(sign language), work (computer), drive long distances and of course most importantly crafting.

Enough about my hands, onto the class.
I printed up what I needed on copic friendly paper and instructions. Watched the four short videos then coloured. I found that after looking at the list of copics for the class (I had less than 20% of the suggested colours). I don't have a huge range but I have a nice range of colours I really like with some missing.

I buy the Ciao Copics in most instances and only buy the Sketch Copics if the colour I want is not available in the Ciao.
I have bought some that I really didn't need or that don't work so well with the colours I have, that was a learning process as in Australia there are very very few stores that carry Copics, usually very small range and quite expensive. Then even less carry the refills. I found early in the piece that I could not purchase from companies overseas (some we can now purchase from). I would go through the whole shopping process and get to check out to find I could not purchase.

I have found Craftonline.com.au sells Copics at a reasonable price and the refills. I purchase the refills as I go, looking at the colours I like and use the most for first preference but there insetting worse than running out of colour and having no refill. Took me 6 months to get a refill for Yellow Acid.

So , back to the class, I had to do some thinking and playing and come up with my own colour combos and you will notice that all bar one are three colour so they can be done three or two.

I think you would say my colours are all bright ones the only soft one being the yellow at the bottom. I have written in the combinations I used and will keep this for future reference.

Its interesting doing the class, even though I already do lots of colouring. My colouring style is self taught, hit and miss and lots of ink so any information has to be an improvement. I like seeing the different ways of adding the colour to the graphic and love the idea of not worrying about going over the lines if I'm planning to cut it out.

So without further ado, I will add this to

and if you would like to see the lovely cards Ruth made with her colouring go here

Thanks for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

Sparkle more & Shine bright

I am meant to be posting about my homework from the online copic class that Ruth & I decided to do together. BUT.........

I got sidetracked when I looked at the Less is More Challenge - Jewel colours. An idea jumped into my head and I had to do it first. I couldn't decide which would look better gold or silver embossing so I did both so I could compare.

After comparing them I love both.
This is the image that inspired me.

I did this one first and didn't really plan out where to lay the gems other than I wanted them to look like they were raining down and there was room for the sentiment (mmmm yes planning ahead!!).

I used the Zig pens and they work brilliant as long as I remember to use the Canson watercolour paper. just a thin line down the left side then come in with water on the brush.

Finished with a silver embossed sentiment. The sentiment is from The Ton stamp set and the gems from Winnie & Walter stamp set.

This time in gold embossing. Planned my gems better in their fall down the card but forgot to leave enough room for the sentiment hence the very close edge.
Same colouring as the other just different start order. I really really love these cards. So easy and so pretty.

Heres the gems up close.

I would like to enter the silver embossed card in the

I would also like to add these to

Just realised I should be entering this in the Winnie & Walter Challenges, their stamps and all

Okay I will be back with my online class homework.
Hope you enjoy your visit and come again soon.

What's up??

I love this little puppy, he really looks like he's looking over the edge and thinking 'what's up?' or maybe 'what's that' but I had to go with the sentiment I had so its up.

Here he is up close, only a little stamp, so a little card. Not much colouring to do and layout didn't take long so its what I would call a 10 minute card.

Card is a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch.

Made this to use for the challenge

new challenge for me

I made a brilliant shaker card but its not coloured in, its all glittered so it will have to wait for another time.

I hope you enjoyed your visit and come again soon.

Hello

When I coloured in my Saturated Canary image in purple the other day I still had the urge to continue colouring so I decided to do one in pink.

This one as you can see is all with pink tones right down to pink eyeshadow. Used another old die set that I had hardly used, rather like it. Cut out the coloured image with one and the next layer up in pink cardstock. Decided to just lay each layer flat on the white base card.

Very light blue outline, looks rather pale here but it is okay IRL. Finished off with a silver glitter paper die cut hello. It has been layered with two white levels first.

Challenges:

This challenge is always Anything Goes

This challenge is also always anything goes.

Three for three on this one, all UK challenges.

Oooops, back again as I forgot to link my colouring today with

Thanks for coming to have a look and I hope you will visit again soon.

Christmas, A time for love and cheer.........

I coloured this image from Mo's Digital Images. I love the look on the cats face, it's like 'ooo oooh it's not gunna hold meee'. So I thought the sentiment was perfect for it, making memories and all.

Coloured with copics, added glossy accents to the baubles for a bit of dimension and kindy glitz white glitter around the base of the tree.

Here's a close up for the cat. Very easy and simple card.

Would like to enter this in

First time entering this challenge so I hope I have followed the rules.

Thanks for coming to visit and I hope to see you again soon.

Two Lives, one Beautiful future

I decided to use a stamp from Stamping Bella but only the top half. When stamped fully you can see its a wedding card, but using only the top half it can be an Engagement card.

I decided that was what I would do. I actually stamped and coloured four different versions. This blue/green, a brown, a red and a gold. One each I added glue to the dress and poured on glitter. Glitter from Martha Stewart, I love it as its quite fine and wonderful colours.

They all look wonderful but of course today I have just used the blue/green. I added a bit of glitter to the flowers swell by drawing some of the outlines with a pink glitter pen. Cut the white and the green layers with a die, added some fun foam to the back for dimension.

Went looking for Engagement sentiment stamps and found that I only had one and it has disappeared. The Borrowers have borrowed it and will return it at some stage, just not sure when.

So I have NO, NADA, NIL, NONE Engagement Sentiments. I used one from a Wedding set
"Two lives, ONE Beautiful Future as I felt it could be an Engagement sentiment. I was going to add a die cut 'Congratulations but it was too wide and the Congrats too big and I must start planning my cards better.

Nothing is nicer than a beautiful bluey/green (teal!!)

Thanks for coming to Visit and I hope you come again soon.

Hugs & Kisses

Okay theres the desk with the first lot of colouring on it and ideas being put together for cards. I had already started colouring on the 1st October to go with the Colouring Challenge but started putting the coloured images onto cards on WCMD. I clear the table constantly as it's not that large a work area with other items that need to be on hand all the time. Those you can see around the outer edges of the table. Then of course if I panned out you would see I am surrounded by shelves on all walls with crafting items. Its like sitting in Crafting Heaven except it can get a bit hot when summer hits even with the air conditioning going. Mainly because I am going through the eternal change of life (11 years but whoooos counting, 11 years of day time sweats and migraines).
Just wish that whatever I am changing into it would finally happen you know.

Alright enough waffling, heres card number one for the first day of the Daily Marker Colouring Challenge. I decided to also enter it into the Hop to Stop Domestic Violence, and Virginia's View Challenge Colouring as I am so pleased with how she turned out.

This is a Saturated Canary Image that will all those hearts on her tights I think is meant to be for Valentines but I had never coloured her up and just love her face.

Coloured her in with Copics, lilac and purple, bit of grey for shadow, blonde hair, blue eyes and a wee biota very light blue to highlight her.

I used a purple glitter pen on her skirt and hair ribbon and feel it finished it off perfectly. Just love that face, it looks so soft, gentle.

Die cut the girl with an old die I have with the corners cut off - looks great, wish it came in bigger size. Then cut the purple card stock out with a stitched die. Glued the stitched die directly to the white card base. Added some craft foam to the back of the coloured image - great way to not have to use tons of the dimension foam tape that is not cheap.

Yes then I stamped 'Hugs and Kisses' - used the Misti and only just fit.

Alright now to add to:

If you didn't read all my previous post then I would like you to go look at the Hop to Stop if you have time, and consider entering (must be purple) to support this wonderful hop. Also there are some wonderful prizes.

Thank you for coming to visit and I hope I see you again soon.

So Much Happening

Boy has this week been busy.  What started this week and runs for the month , a week or a number of days is too much to list all here.

But a few that I am hoping to take part in are :
