Merry Christmas from the Farm

No I don't live on a farm. I'm more likely to see Kangaroos, Wombats and Koalas on my trips to Canberra each week on my visits to mum and dads than I am likely to see a pig ora chicken. Yes we see lots of sheep and cows munching away as we travel but never any as cute as these.

Check out the animals close up, the star, the Roosters comb, the cows tail and of course the star all have glossy accents just for that little touch of bling/shine.

I love the sentiment. I stamped onto some scraps of paper that look like old farm house peeling paint boards. Single layer card, really not don't for anything special but thought I might get a move on with the Christmas cards.

We are so proud of YOU

I bought this stamp set from Mamma Elephant and think it's so cute. Sat and coloured in a couple of the images then was thinking about the YOU challenge over on CASology and I had that blinding moment of 'hold on, what if???'

So my little crowd was coloured in with copics and I cut out so it looks like photo, laid it flat on white cardstock.

Stamped 'We are so proud of' and left of the 'you' from the stamp. Well covered it with a post it note when adding the ink.
Die cut the 'you two times in white and once in black.
Nice easy clean and CAS.

Need to do a few more posts as my computer was out of action for a few days.

Hope you enjoy your visit and come to visit again soon.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass

Don't they look so happy. Love this AI stamp, it arrived yesterday with my once every two years order from Simon Says. The sentiment is from a different company.I wasn't to use this sentiment rather than one of the ones that came with it.

I decided to really work here and decided to paper piece all their dresses. So that meant stamping the image once on the card then four times on different patterned paper. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out. Got a little fiddly as I had to save some extremely small pieces for the pinky/red dress.

I coloured their bodies first then paper pieced then finished off their outfits and hair. Added just a little Wink of Stella this time to earrings and the bow, then the jacket and pinky/red dress but it really isn't showing here.

I decided to give that pale blue outline that seems to pick the image up. Had one stuff up but coved up pretty well and its not glaring in your eyes obvious.

Well I now have enough cut outs to do another three cards and I reckon I could do a card with the front lady dancing on her own if I was to cut her out. All the others would have things missing.

Okay I would like to add this to

I know its a CAS challenge but I wanted to use the image as is and didn't add any other embellishments so hopefully its okay. Certainly paper pieced.

Just one more look. I hope you enjoy your visit and come again soon.

Copic Online Card Classes - Day Two

The online Copic colouring Class is progressing well. This week it was birds and butterflies and some strange colour combinations.

I realised that as I finished the butterflies I hadn't really challenged myself to use different colours so stamped some from Hero Art stamp and coloured a couple more. If you want the colour combos just click on the image so you can read my scribble.

I ended up cutting out two of the butterflies I had stamped and will make a card, latttter or sooner with them. Love the colour combos. Sorry my big fat shadow is right across the photo, too hot to take any more.

Okay this can go into the

And if you would like to see how Ruth is going with her Copics ( she made a beautiful card with one of her butterflies) then off you go to here.
Don't forget to say hi while your there.

Thanks for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

AWESOME

I never tire of watercolouring these gems. When they are embossed they just look awesome.

In this instance I have gold embossed on Canson Watercolour paper then watercolored with Zig Markers - Red/Orange and Yellow

Then stamped 'Awesome' sentiment and gold embossed it. Talk about quick and easy. the hardest part was

Getting rid of any little bits of colour that ended up outside the lines and the blob of yellow I somehow got in the top right corner. I don't think the camera does these gems and their colours justice.
Each time I did one main colour and a touch of the other colour in the opposite corner.

I would like to enter this into the

On your Wedding day

I coloured this Saturated Canary image in the softest of green copic. I originally printed up the image on watercolour paper but it was cheap watercolour paper and of course it wasn't going to hold the ink well with water. Rather than throw the image away, I decided to see if copics would work on it. Not only did they work but they blended well and  there was no bleeding of the printer ink.

Isn't she just so elegant, I love this dress. My mother made ones just like this for my sisters wedding, she wore white and the bridesmaids wore green.

Though the blending isn't perfect on here it's not that obvious. Its only because I have come in close and at an angle because I wanted to show the glitter. Click on the photo and just check it out. Talk about Glitter and Sparkle, her dress is to die for. The flowers even have a bit of sparkle as does her eye shadow.

This image was so easy to colour, just one shade of green used. The background paper looks like it was designed to go with this dress and a very small border of silver sparkle around the watercolour paper to lift it.

All placed flat so no bulk and a simple sentiment stamped at the end.

I want to enter this into Addicted to CAS but even though it was very easy to do, quick and just has the one image focus, it may be too many layers so let me know ladies if it needs to be removed and I will cancel the link.

Thanks for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

Life is a great big CANVAS watercolour

After doing the card yesterday with gold embossing I decided to go one with white embossing. This time I embossed on Tim Holtz watercolour paper so I decided to use the distress inks.

I squished one colour at a time onto a piece of acetate, squirted with water and also added some Perfect Pearls Mist then squished onto my watercolour paper. Then wipe acetate and add next colour and repeat.
Then you just play around until your happy. Try not to overplay as you can end up with some pretty crappy looking pieces. My bin is testament to that as I decided to try on some blank pieces of watercolour card stock and overplayed a few times and just left for another day.

I wish you could see the sparkle IRL its fantastic. The Perfect Pearls added a lovely cream sheen but it doesn't show up in the photos.

I am happier with this version of the card colours wise but liked the gold embossing better than the white. So of course now I need to do one on this watercolour cardstock with gold embossing.

Will enter this in

woohooo!

I saw the challenge over at CASology and decided I had to enter. I had lots of ideas but of course you have to have the stamps for it to work so I had a good look through.

Was going to use the cats from Penny Black then saw this one that, yesssss I haven't used yet.
And my cute little puppy  from the same stamp company which is Eat Cake Graphics Stamps  and an idea formulated.

I had been looking through my patterned papers before and came across a pad of papers that are all fences and walls, aged and worn, perfect for this card. Made it so simple. Coloured both with Copics. The puppy up high on the card,

and as you can see the paper design is perfect. He's up the top of the wall, sees his friend the cat,

Yells out 'Woohooo!' cause he's so happy to see him. But of course cat is walking along minding his own business and not aware of his friend up on the wall so the Woohooo scares the cr.. out of him.

The End

P.S. Doesn't that paper look brilliant. Also I reckon the dog is killing himself laughing at his friends response.

Also need to enter

A new challenge

Life is a great big CANVAS........

The sentiment was too long to make a title so I didn't add it all but isn't it brilliant.
Bought this a while ago and this is the first time I have used it, only because I forgot.

When I decided to play at  AAA Cards I knew I had this sentiment just needed to hunt for it. Of course then I came across lots of other sentiments I could use too but decided tasty with this one as I will also play at Serendipity Stamps to use the newest (unused for me) stamp I have.

Wonderful sentiment I think when referring to life. Okay I stamped on watercolour paper and heat embossed in gold.
Then I changed my mind and decided to use the Tim Holtz  stencil that gives these brilliant splashes and splots (my word). I inked up with Pistachio Ink.

Quick, CAS, Concentrates on the sentiment. Ticks all the boxes.

and lastly

Thank you everyone for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

You look FABULOUS

Doesn't she just. Yes that's me getting ready to go to the races....hahahahaha oops that was my head falling off as I rolled around laughing. Miss Elegance I'm not but I do so love these Stamping Bella stamps.

This card was so easy to do. Stamped onto white card then again stamped onto patterned paper. Coloured in her body, hat bag and gloves. Love the lippy. The hat was made to match the dress. Cut out the dress and drew around the outline with black liner pen to redefine it.

I love how this turned out right down to the little purple ribbon on her bag to match the outfit.
I then decided rather than cut a lot of different mats I would use a patterned paper background with the ombre look. Trimmed close to the image so I could tilt slightly, then added the sentiment.

All done and perfect for the

I just realised  as I went to the address this is a CAS Challenge and the extra paper layer may be too much, so please remove if not right.

Definitely has stripes.
