Spread your wings and fly......because it's your day

How clever is that I combined the two sentiments for the two cards I have done. They are not related in any aspect except I coloured them.

This first card I have used butterflies from Inspired to Stamp and have had them for ages and cant believe I have hardly used them. Must use them more cause they really are pretty.

I have coloured with blue/green and blue Copics. Kept the colours nice and cool. I then added a pale blue gem between the butterflies.

The card is then finished off with this sentiment that I have used a number of times as I like it.

Next card is

a lovely relaxing scene, at least for my husband who loves fishing. I got this stamp (I don't want to think about how long ago, cause I forgot I had it and came across it the other day and smacked my hand for forgetting it) from Serendipity Stamps. Its not mounted on anything and I just use repetitional tape on the back to stick it in my Misti to line it up properly.

Such an easy image to colour as there are clear shadow lines visible . After I started colouring the boat I realised I should have gone for a colour rather than raw wood but it was too late to change it so this boat has had such a hard life there's no paint left.

I love how the water turned out using lots of different colours in the blues and blue/greens.
The sentiment to finish it off I stamped in Hero Art grey colour as I felt it was better in this instance.
The sentiment says it all..... will give it to John a bit early for Fathers Day that way he can go away fishing for the weekend not just the day. He and his dad have a larger boat that they can sleep on, they go from his dad's from Dora Creek out onto the Macquarie Lakes and totally enjoy themselves. (And I enjoy myself at home not cooking dinner, controlling the remote control and crafting).

Challenges

Was inspired by Jenni's butterflies, colours used, gems and layout so have followed that style. This was a wonderful card to follow and I love Jenni's style.

Butterflies fly

I interpreted the word as to 'row' a boat.

Thank you so much for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

Absolutely gorgeous butterflies and you were right to just keep them very simple - it looks beautiful. I really like the muted colours of the boat scene - makes it very calm, perfect for a boating weekend. Hope he has a good time and catches a big one! Xx

Two fab cards. I found myself asking hubby when he was going to his mother's to do her garden (Euroa) we live in Melbourne means an overnight stay (at least!) cause I enjoy the non interrupted crafty time and no cooking! Answer - next school holidays :(
OMG I have the stamp butterfly stamp and haven't inked it yet either!

Your boat scene: lovely and I especially like the 'raw wood'...adds wonderful impact! I hear you with the 'husband's away' perks *grin*
