You Add Color to My Life

Today was all about playing with my Inktense pencils. I love these pencils and never use them enough, yes its a little more work than the Zigs but just look at this card. Inktense pencils are produced by Derwent and are not cheap. But a little bit of colouring goes a long way.

Today I coloured in half a dozen projects but will just share this one with you today. With this one I chose a number of pencils going through the colour ranges and of course I like bright and light so thats what I picked out. Then I got each pencil and coloured a line of colour onto watercolour card stock, till I went through the colours I had out.

I then wet a paint brush and went over the pencil to wet and blend. These will come together quite nicely with complimentary colours.Once dry I felt it wasn't bright enough so this time I wet the brush and picked up colour from the pencil and brushed over each colour to make it heavier.

In this instance I have used the negative from the die cut and a strip of the Inktense pencil colours underneath. The top layer is glued straight on top of the coloured section and I finished off with a selection of Lucy's sequins attaching colours close in match to where they are attached and stamped the sentiment using the Misti so I could stamp more than once if it wasn't clear.

Tomorrow I will post using the actual die cuts done in different colours and will also do more on Inktense Pencils for those interested.

Challenges :

I think this works for your challenge but please let me know if not and I will remove.

Thank you so much for coming to visit my blog and I hope you come again soon.

I love my Inktense pencils. I thought for the price they were pretty good value - I have the 72 tin and it was £75. It's amazing how much pigment you get from not a lot of pencil, and they are lasting me a long time. I love the vibrancy of yours and that you've done a rainbow effect with them. I did a video yesterday using Inktense. A little more muted than this! Xx

Really beautiful job of colouring the hexagons Aileen. The ombre technique for each individual one must have taken you ages, but it looks so amazing. I have not had a lot of success with pencils, but I don't have the Inktense set and that's probably why. Anyways, great job!! xx
