'Let's Chat' and 'The Party is Here'

Another two card post with a couple of Challenges in mind.
This probably one of my very few CAS cards, I struggled to
decide I like it when it was finished.

Coloured with Copics, a bit of grey shadow to ground my
phone..  First time using another stamp set, I am trying to use them
all and then thinking I need to use each part of the stamp set,

Even if it means doing sets of cards so I start getting value for money
spent. I keep looking and seeing stamps I just had to have and they are
sitting ever so patiently waiting for me to get my act together.
At lest I have stopped buying flowers (be lucky to have 2 cards with flowers
on them - off to the Destash Facebook page they need to go, along with
all that ribbon I just had to have and half my washi that realistically I will
never use).

Anyway back to the card, stamp and sentiment from Taylored  Expressions.
I also have the dies (mmm where did I put them??) and it looks like the
stamps are no longer available. Coloured with Copics and added a few
sequins to cover little marks.

This is a card that started as an idea and then it went in a totally
different direction. I wanted to add to the Scrapbook Boutique Challenge
and may just scrap it in.

This little scene is a collection of digital images put together by Tiddly  Inks
that you can use as a scene or individually. The mood board
from Scrapbook Boutique is
this fabulous collection as we are well into Summer.
Love these colours. So I coloured my picture
with the thought of beautiful blues and greens of the sea
and sky and yellows of the beach.

Had to add some friends calling us to join in all the fun therefore
some bright happy crabs calling out. You can see them all through the
hole in the fence
The fence paper is from a paper pad. I Die cut it and the image with the same
double stitched die so the image could sit inside the fence circle.

Mistake here as I should have joined the two together first before adding to the card front.
I added the fence pattern paper first and ended up with a buckle in the fence that I couldn't fix
as the rest had stuck fast then when I added the image die cut I found that a small flat edge had
happened so there was a gap.
All my eye could see was the gap, too much fiddling around made it more obvious.
Moral of the story, just leave well enough alone, its not a masterpiece and unless you want
to start from scratch accept it looks good enough.
Finished off with a few sequins and the sentiment 'The Party is Here'.
The sandy area and waterline done in that Watercolour Copic technique.

Thank you so much for coming to have a look and I hope you visit again soon.

Love You Mum and Surprise, life too short to act normal!!

A never before used Penny black stamp (but fairly new to me) stamped
with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and a green I cant think of the name. Coloured
with copics pinks but in the Salmon/Prawn pinks.

I had to go back in once I finished colouring with a fine paint brush
and add some lines that didnt stamp. Because the ink was a pinky
colour I had to be careful with the colours so you could still see the
details of the stamp and was happy with the result.

The card stock is a bit more pink than it looks here but the light has
made it look more Salmon. I die cut with Wonky die from Stamplorations
the pink and white then the white agin to give the base, white layer, inset
the pink from original base then the white with image that I had cut again to
make it smaller. Sounds messy but theres not that many layers so still
kind of flat. Added Technique Tuesday 'Love You' backing die and gold die cut.
Finished off with 'mum' which there are few of amongst all the American Moms
and a few white shimmery sequins.

I love this cutie and whether you get her as a clear stamp from Penny Black or from Mo's Digital Pencil she comes a running with an empty bowl and you can top it up with a few

different fillers : cherries; sundae; porridge; hearts; clover. Its up to you
what you add. I saw Therese's card over at Lost in Paper where she used this little
missy so perfectly, love her design. but I had that day printed up my copies
to use and they held a Banana Split and thats exactly what she's doing. She has
scored the whole bowl and is on the run.

Coloured with copics and a bit of Glossy Accent on the cherries.
Die cut 'Surprise' from ??? and a sentiment I seem to use quite a bit.
I think its my mantra 'Life's too short to act normal'. Something my
mum  and a few other family members (ohh okay they all) seem to think
about me.

Time to add to some challenges before they close (then Im off to eat
that Banana Split). Thanks so much for coming to visit and I hope you
come and visit again soon.

Challenges:

Absolutely stunning inspiration from
Jenni Murray. My inspiration: the flower
the layers with the wonky die cut,
die cut love sentiment.

Score to be interpreted by me. First thought was scoring the card stock; score in sport;
score in lov no, no, no get your mind out of the gutter. When I was looking through my images
that little girl bolting with the banana split just made me think ' yahoooo she's off with
the dessert, she's scored'.Thats my story anyway.

Third card in this challenge.

Celebrate Life

To make a card for Mardi Gras for a challenge I remembered I had purchased
this image many years ago and I have never coloured it. Today I did and really
enjoyed the result.

The image is from 'Aurora Wings' on Etsy. I have coloured
with copics. I couldn't find one coloured in on google for ideas
so obviously not a popular image. I intend to use this more
as I have since thought of a few more ideas.

Once I finished I did all the dots in pale mint green then a bit
of shadow, then I added Wink of Stella for sparkle THEN I added
Glossy Accents to every second dot, waited for that to dry then
went back and did the in-between dots so they didnt all join up.

Mint green background and image layer both cut with Stamplorations
wonk die. Added the top layer at an angle. A silver die cut 'Celebrate'
also from Stamplorations and the 'life' from glitter peel offs as this is what
jumps into my head for celebrating Mardi Gras is to Celebrate Life.

Challenge:

Boy have I shopped my stash today -image old as,
mint cardstock at least 5 years old.

Thank you so much for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

Surf's Up Beach Babes & Coffee let's get together

I've made two cards to day without a particular Challenge in mind.
I felt like watercolouring and I had stamped and white embossed these
beautiful tea/coffee cups so decided to use this.
I watercoloured with zigs and plenty of water. Love how the embossed image
keeps the pain within a set area, so much easier to do than when just stamped.

Last time I coloured with Copics, this time watercolour and white embossed.
Next I need to do with Gold Embossing, saw one yesterday
 on Instagram @jeannejachna

I used Multimedia paper which is great for Copics and watercolour and
works well with Zigs. I cut the rectangle wonky die snap
from Stamplorations And the Coffee die from......

Added the stamped sentiment, Lets get together and a couple of
enamel dots. All done.

Now this card I wanted to try a technique called 'Watercolor with Copics'
and I saw Sandy Allnock demonstrate on  the MFT website then I went
to YouTube and watched other versions. She really is brilliant, go check it out.

But no comparing okay...... First attempt and Im quite happy and my son
reckons its brilliant. You really are getting good mum!!! So glad I meet his approval.
I coloured my ladies (I just love these beauties, no inhibitions here), thats me on the right
with the pink and orange swimmers.
Coloured with copics then added the sentiments. Then I decided I need to dive in
and do this Watercolor technique.

The colours are the same both sides just the light has made it appear darker on the
left, no, what you see on the left is the same all the way across. You pick out your
light colours and just colour here and there, I used BV000 R000 BG01 RV02 B000
and G00, using the lighter colours to pull the colours together and change colours
sometimes, going over the pink making more mauve etc.
Then when happy with the mix
I used Copic '0' and just added spots. I made sure my markers were all very 'juicy'
especially the '0' so that it lifted colour easily. Click on the photo to see the colours close.
I went over the sentiment again with a black liner.

It was fun and such a great way to add background without having to worry about, shadows,
depth, fade away. I will be trying this again, saw a flower Sandy did and its so stunning.

Well there you go two bright cards and now lets see if there's anywhere to link them. Thank you so much for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

PS I just noticed that I have 99 followers through Blogger. I can't believe it nearly 100
and in April it will be two years since I started blogging. 485 Posts, my goodness.
Think I will have to have a celebration, a giveaway, who knows. Stay tuned!!

A card for a Challenge or Two and A Card Just Because

Don't fall over backwards here. I have done a card that is perfect for the latest
Muse Challenge And its not one hour before the challenge closes. AS soon as
I saw the inspiration card
done by Tracey McNeely I knew what I wanted to do. I had done a card a year or
two ago using my stamps in a similar fashion but different end to the card. Totally inspired
by Tracey's wonderful card with all the scattered pill bottles and medicines and
the colours and the black layer with white embossed sentiment.

I went with paint tubes, some full and some squeezed, coloured the labels
and the lids and just a little grey to the tubes to give depth.

I white embossed my sentiment that is all to do with romance
"You Color my World" wrong spelling for Australia but close
enough surely.

I went a little bit wild with the enamel dots which I felt look like spots
of paint then took some off cause I realised it was getting a bit full on
but hopefully just a few is okay.

My idea of perfect for the Muse Card Challenge and certainly inspired
by Tracey's Card.

I'd also like to enter this in Shopping our Stash #290 Romance without a Heart
I see this as a romantic card and hope they do too.

I'd also like to add this to the Allsorts challenge #403 anything Goes
No restrictions so perfect.

This other card I did cause I had her printed up and just wanted
to colour her in. Isn't she a sweetie and with that sentiment
'Whatcha' doing?' She's from Tiddly Inks and a digital
image and I think I bought her a long with a few others at 50%
off -wahoooo

Coloured her in with Copics, played with her hair for a bit
and then added Glossy Accents to her bow so its got a nice
shine to it.

Then decided to use some pattern paper that looks like a fence
and decided to have her in a window in the fence (cause
everyone has a window in their fence!!!!). Well I just liked
the look so that was enough for me cause I was just colouring
and making the card for fun.

Challenges, lets see......

Whatcha' Doing?
I think its CAS but if not let me know and I will remove. Thanks

Whatcha' Doing? perfect for the anything Goes
Challenge.
