The Flower Challenge #5 CASE our Guest Designer

This month The Flower Challenge has a Guest Designer and would would like you
to CASE her card and we have  a New Design Team member.
First up lets look at the card made by our Guest Designer

Therese Calvird from Lost in Paper has made this most amazing card. I instantly wanted
to get the same die and do an exact copy its so pretty.

Alas the die is no longer available so I looked at the card for a little, then went to
Therese's blog and watched the video (the direct
link is on The Flower Challenge Blog). After watching the video and realising just how easy this card actually was I went off to my craft room and decided to see what I was inspired to do.

I chose a few things from Therese's card. I loved the in-set die-cut.
I loved the soft colours  in the panel behind the flower and the colour added to the 'sentiment'.

This is my CASE of Therese's card. I used this sweet die cut flower and cut it
six times then glued all the layers together. I then inlaid the die cut back into the negative.
In Therese's card she has used acetate which is a great way to cut back on having to make
multiple copies of the die cut and then glueing them all together.
The colour behind the flower is a scrap of Watercolour paper with watercolour
colours pink and orange and yellow and lots of water to make it very soft. I started out
trying to be softer in colour but theres something that controls my hand and makes
me add more and more so my soft is bright (but softer than my usual). Bit of
water flick and of course some Wink of Stella to add a bit of sparkle.

A die cut sentiment using the same colours as the background but used in
gradient on the word. I then checked and saw Therese had only partly
coloured hers but its inspiration not direct copying. I added a stamped
sentiment to the die cut and did this in grey ink to keep it all
soft and finished off with enamel dots.

This is my version of CASEing and if you go to

You will be able to see all the other inspiration from the Design Team
and also read about What does CASE mean which may help you decide
on your next card in our challenge.

Don't forget to go visit Therese's blog too (link above)

I'm not going to tell you who has joined the team, you need to go and check it out at  The
Flower Challenge and see who it is. This is so exciting, I cant believe I have so many  wonderful,
talented, artistic friends who believe in this challenge.

Aileen, after a whirlwind weekend, getting ready for my Super Bowl Bash, I finally arrive at your blog, my friend, to tell you how much I love your CASE of Theresa's card. This die is just perfect and the water color wash behind it, simply gorgeous. You must teach me how to do a water color wash, I always end up with a muddy mess.
Love the fabulous sentiment and the detail of the enamel dots.
Beautifully done, my friend.
Hugs,
Maria.

This is a wonderful die floral & I really like that you made the 'soft' more bright. It certainly glows on the white outlines of the inlay too. Adding the color as you did on the bold sentiment - another great detail. I hear you with not being able to leave 'soft' alone...I'm a bit that way with adding contrast. My eye doesn't like the strong contrast, yet I know that's what adds dimension to the image! This is a gorgeous card. TFS
