The Flower Challenge #79 Focus on Background Stamping

Its time for the latest challenge at The Flower Challenge Blog

Although this is a Christmas background stamp I have coloured with purples and pinks and made it
a Happy Birthday card. I stamped and heat embossed in gold on vellum.

I didn't realised how dark this photo looked until I added it here so have made it a bit bigger for you.
I coloured the flowers with Zig watercolour brushes and a little bit of Nuvo Glitter brush.
To finish it off I added lots of smooth gold gems and sparkly clear gems.

I love how this turned out and hope you do to.

Now its time to go see what the Design Team have been up to and our Guest Designer, Ishani who has designed a wonderful card. If you have time check out her amazing cards on her website or Instagram. I have watched Ishani since she first came on the cardmaking scene doing cards with Quill art and have watcher her amazing talent flourish and grow. A account worth following.

The Flower Challenge #78 Reminder Die Cuts or Stencils

Its time for the reminder post, Ive been doing lots of playing with this months post.
This is the card I chose for my reminder.

For this card I have chosen a Distress Oxide background I made and added these flowers.
They are from Altenew and are the African Daisy layered die. I went rainbow because well
I love rainbow flowers so why not.

I copic coloured and tried to work going from the layer above for colours so they layered up ok. I was heavy handed with the colour to keep it bring. I added lots of Nuvo Glitter brushpen to the petals for lots of sparkle.

Up close you can see all that sparkle. The flower goes with my blog name today thats for sure.

Now its time to go check out what the rest of the Design Team has been up to at The Flower Challenge
But before you go I thought I would share the flower cards I have been posting on Instagram for those who don't go there so you can see what else I have been doing in relation to this months challenge.

These cards I have used the Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers Coneflower die. They look amazing and I have to say this layered die is so easy to work with and looks sensational with just one flower on a card so no need to be doing lots and lots of die cutting.

The Flower Challenge #78 Die Cuts or Stencils

This month is all about Die Cuts or Stencils together with your beautiful flower stamps.

I have been having so much fun with this Rose. This rose comes from Altenew and you can get, Hot Foil plate and stencil if you want..  First I hot foiled most of the rose which is called Gilded Rose.

I used Hammermill cardstock and find that fool proof, each time I foil no matter the brand of foil
it works perfectly. As this is expensive to get here in Australia I bought a ream and cut up for use with this system only. These days to help me with remembering which cut up panel is which I now write on the back in pencil using just initials and it helps a lot.
H - Hammermill
C- Copic - ExpressIt
110 - Neenah Solar White
80 - Neenah
W- Watercolour
G- Glossy
PH- Photo paper
CA - Canson
SB - Stathmore Bristol
SV -Strathmore Vellum
SM - Strathmore Multimedia
and the list goes on......

Now back to my card.
After Hot Foil
I then used the stencil, being a first time using this stencil I had a bit of a learning curve
getting the stencils lined up. There are three stencils and the third has two sections so that the layers end up being four layers.
I used three Distress Ink colours and blended trying to keep my layers light so it didnt become too bright.
After doing the four layers I went back with the second stencil (I did wait a day for the inks to dry as my first attempt when I added the glitter paste ended up pulling colours from different sections together.
So I lay on the second stencil and went over the layer with BoBunny glitter paste.Thisadds a wonderful sparkle to the card.

I have then finished off the card with this wonderful die cut sentiment ' You are Awesome'.

Thank you so much for coming to look and I Hope you will leave a comment letting me know what you think then its time to go to The Flower Challenge Blog to check out what the rest of the Design Team has been up to.

No Guest Designer this week as an emergency came up but next month sees Guest Designers back with us.

The Flower Challenge Reminder #77 Use your Latest Stamp or Die

I have been playing around with a photo editing program and just couldn't resist the addition
of the little love heart bubbles.

Todays card is made using a beautiful Spellbinders hot foil plate. After embossing the image
I decided to do a Distress Oxide blend as Copics don't work very well on the cardstock I used.
I blended with just two colours and when they overlapped I got the third colour.
I used a masking stencil for the shape.

Now its time to go check out what the rest of the Design Team have been up to at The Flower Challenge.

Thank you for coming to visit

The Flower Challenge #77 Use Your Latest Stamps or Dies

Welcome to The Flower Challenge! This is the challenge that celebrates cards using floral images. Our challenge for February is ...

It would be great if you could add our cue card above when entering our challenge.
Of course most of all....have fun!

So this month we would like to see you 'Use your Latest Stamps or Dies', just remember they must be FLORAL. If in any doubt see the examples made by our talented Design Team below!

As we missed it in January having no challenge then, just wishing you all a very Happy New Year! We hope you will all enjoy taking part in our challenges during the coming year too ;)

Just a quick message from me, Aileen, to remind you that Viv has stepped back at this time due to health and moving house so if you have any problems please get in touch with me. Please remember that I am on a different time line to most of you so there will be a 14 hour time difference, I will get back to you just not necessarily straight away.

We are not having a Guest Designer this month but we will again from next month.

Now it's time to share my card

This is not a brand new release from Altenew but it is one of the many sets of stamps I have
not yet used so it is the Latest to be coloured up. I love these flowers and in this instance
I have coloured with Copics staying in the very light colour range then I added a bit of pencil
to give better detail.

I fussy cut the petals then added to this beautiful piece of pattern paper that
I feel looks as though it is embossed. Its a beautiful piece and I love the
finish. I finished off with some gold gems and a hot foil Happy Birthday
sentiment.

Now its time to go check out what the rest of the design team at The Flower Challenge
has been up to, the inspiration is just stunning.
