Congratulations in Pastlel Colours

Boy do I struggle with Pastels. I really hope these are pale enough to refer to them as pastel. Tried so hard to keep my colours light but I had to add shadows and definition so the colours started getting darker.

This was my first attempt and as you can see it certainly didnt make the pastel ranks as I got heavier handed with the colours and it became a brights to be left for another time.

This is my second attempt at pastels and I feel I got as light as I can with watercolours.
This stunning collection of flowers came as a stamp, this stamp:

Beautiful, easy to stamp. I did heat emboss in white which meant it was a bit harder to work out where the flower started and ended and where the leaves were but by keeping my coats very very pale to begin with I left myself room for error.

After I finished painting, I added a bit of blue for highlight and washed it away to nothing. I added a bit more shadow build and lightweight with my Coloursoft Pencils. Finished it off but using the stitched Rectangle die then inlaid it back in so it remained one layer. Added a silver narrow card 'Congrats' die.

So what do you think??? Pastel enough??

Challenges:

Thank you so much for coming to have a look and I hope you come again soon.

Stunning Aileen! I know what you mean about pastels, when I try to get them I usually end up with bright, vibrant colour! I've decided that I just can't 'do' pastels! I think you've done a great job with this and I would call them pastels! Have a lovely day! Hazel xx

It's me playing catch up this week! This is definitely pastel and so pretty. All my pastel attempts have so far ended up in the bin, it's very tricky to get them right and you nailed it. Cara x

Doesn't look like you were struggling to me Aileen as it's a beautifully coloured card, I think we are all critical of our own work at times. But looks perfect to me.

Many thanks for joining us again at Penny Black and More challenge.
