Birthday Wishes, You Make me Smile & Take Time to Enjoy

Its a mixed up title covering three cards today. Just the one post so lots to look at.

My first card I have used the ?? die. I tried looking up this style but couldn't see it and I don't have the packaging. Anyway I cut the panel out four times, yellow, blue, white and black and played around till I liked the result.

I used a panel of double sided tape to adhere everything to the card front.

I then decided to do the sentiment and cut it out in Silver, white, black then white glitter paper and ended up using the white glitter paper and the black cut out and slightly off centre attached to give the look of shadow.

Even managed to keep track of the 'i' dots. Quite pleased with the end result and enough left over to do another couple of cards.

This next card I decided to try an Autumn card.

We don't tend to celebrate Autumn in Australia, to the same degree as I see overseas. Also as the other side of the world starts into Autumn we are starting into Spring and its already getting quite warm. I don't have any Autumn sentiments or stamps. I saw a stencil down the local craft ship and purchased that so decided to go Autumn with it.

I just used one of the leaves and blended with Distress inks, a wee bit of olive green that just isn't showing up in these photos but is there, a bit of pumpkin orange, barn door red and mustard yellow.

I just turned the leaf in different directions as I moved up the page. For a sentiment I decided this one ' Take Time to Enjoy the Simple Things' was appropriate for Autumn. Kill need to build my collection. This card is a one layer one too and my second attempt. My first card I didnt notice I was colouring a stray stem as I went that was further out on the card, so had to mask that for next time. I'm quite pleased with this result.

My last card was a quick colouring of this ever so cute image

I love the way the little puppy is sitting on her shoes and I felt the sentiment suited the image to perfection. All coloured with Copics and a bit of spotty/dotty grass.

I love the colours I used together here, the coolness of the mint and the softness of the lavender. Bit of dotting there to give the puppy texture.

Finished the card off with a little wood bird flying off into the sunset.
I also did a pile of colouring of backgrounds using small stamps as I really find that enjoyable these days but I then struggle to work out what to do with them, not wanting to cover up any of that wonderful colouring.

Anyway I hope you all enjoyed your visit and come again soon.

without the topping for this one.

I think the first card uses a quatrefoil die. I first thought Papertrey Ink, but that's not it. No matter, it sure looks neat with the different colored pieces. I like the design you created. For not having much Autumnal experience, you sure created a beautiful fall card! Great colors to show off the leaves. And that last card absolutely brings a smile to one's face. Adorable scene colored wonderfully! Great work. Thanks for sharing!

Curious me had to go looking for that die and I think this might be it, Aileen. http://www.graftoncrafts.co.uk/shop/cart.php?target=product&product_id=37676&category_id=3123 I love the quilted look of that card. I also love the autumn stencil and the sentiment. Where can I find it? And then there's that darling little girl. You've don such a beautiful job of coloring that image. Two thumbs up for all three cards.

I love these cards! Each is very different but equally gorgeous and creative. The one with the leaves is fabulous - There's hardly anything on this card, just a stamped image but it doesn't need anything else. Love them all!

Great cards. The one where you have placed the die waste back in is so effective, I love using this technique.

Hi Aileen, thanks for relinking your sweet puppy card again at Just Add Ink. Yes, as Nikki explained I did appear to me that you had linked to all 8 challenges you have listed here rather than just three as you have mentioned in your email. Sorry for the mix up and thanks for taking the time to explain.
