The fourth week in May is - Photo Week- meaning you look at the photo and take your
inspiration from that. Whatever in the photo inspires you is what you should go with. For
me, I was inspired by the wallpaper both colour and the style and the deep pink flowers,
inspiration from that. Whatever in the photo inspires you is what you should go with. For
me, I was inspired by the wallpaper both colour and the style and the deep pink flowers,
This is what I created...
To make this card, First I took a piece of patterned paper
With this I blended Distress Inks Squeezed Lemonade and a little Fossilised Amber.
It took on the plain paper but the glossy part stayed white. I added this once it was
coloured to a 5 x 5" card base.
I used the Gerber Flowers from Uniko, stamped and clear embossed on watercolour paper.
I then used a mix of oranges and pinks but got a bit heavy handed with the main flower and
it now looks more red than orange/pink in the photo. I added a wee bit of Wink of Stella for
sparkle to the petals. For the leaves I white embossed on vellum and coloured on the back
so the colour was very light, I needed some greenery but didnt want it to take up the picture
(not sure if I've described it properly there but you are sure to get the idea when you look at
the card).
I finished it off with a die cut sentiment in gold mirror card. I was going to do white as white
features quite strongly in the photo but it just got lost on the background pattern.
I had fun doing this and made a few different backgrounds using stencils as well which you
will see at some stage later.
I hope you find this inspirational and come play along with us, HERE at Just Us Girls.

Absolutely gorgeous! I love how you did the background, never thought of this and your flowers are beautiful. You have captured the inspiration of the photo perfectly. Sad this is your last week, I have really loved all of your cards and you have given me a lot of inspiration.
I never thought of inking DP and you had the perfect one for the background, Aileen. I love Gerber Daisies and yours are a great color. The flowers on my card are red and that's artistic license. ;) I was so glad to have you as our guest designer to inspire us as well as our followers.
