Finally started painting these butterflies from Hero Art. I love them and sat there late into the wee hours trying different colour combinations. White embossed the butterfly onto water colour paper, saturated the image and used my watercolour pens (Japanese SAI) then put more water on my brush and tapped tapped to spread and blend. This one is blue and fuchsia. Looks so pretty in real life. Click to enlarge to see how pretty the butterfly is.
Please Note: I have found that to get these watercolour pens to work well the paper needs to be really wet and it does start to get little lumps pulling from the watercolour paper if worked too much. I found that go light with the paint it goes a long way and more a patting than pulling the brush in strokes. This was with Tim Holtz watercolour paper and just these watercolour pens.
Fussy cut out the butterfly and put onto a piece of textured cardstock so didn't feel it needed much more. Stamped 'Happy Birthday' again perfect stamping with Miss Misti then to finish it off a couple of sparkly gems. I love these gems.
I've done a few different cards but just want to add this one for the Watercolor Blog Hop/Pretty Pink Posh before it closes. and will also add to
The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge Day 8 (one day ahead but away this arvo to mum and dads so no chance to put up later and well it was the wee hours so tomorrow really!!)
Just saw another Challenge I really should go in before I leave. I think this is CAS enough. Adding to Addicted to CAS: Challenge #65 - Butterfly
