Altenew Flowers on Vellum

I couldn't  resist I have posted both flower cards here using one of the Altenew Flower stamps. One of their originals I think but still my most popular one. It has such an elegance about it. And just check it out here.

I have white embossed on plain vellum then coloured with zigs. The two palest pinks and greens and don't they look stunning. You can see the gold from the cardbase through the vellum. I ended up purchasing the dies for these as they really look spectacular cut out and its a lot less fiddly for me.

In this instance a good purchase, as I often hold out on purchasing the dies for flowers or animals preferring to see if they are easy to fussy cut first. With a flower like this one it is easier to use the die so I'm glad I changed my mind.

I have coloured and cut out two blooms and placed both so they are a bit off the face of the card base.
The card base front is a Papertrey purchase where you get a selection of card fronts with gold or silver finish on them. They are quite elegant and sit there waiting to be used up like many of my extras.
I finished the card off by gluing the flowers in place using dark areas or where the white embossing would cover it. I was looking at sentiments and debating what to do and this one I have used just 'worked' for me. I love it.
Then disaster hit. See those beautiful little dots on the gold. They are little gold glitter dots and looked so pretty .......NOT. They were cheap and in this instance they were 'you get what you pay for'. They started slipping on the gold, the backing glue became slimy and left crappy marks, tried to clean up and ended up smearing the gold on the card panel. Yep I pulled the card apart carefully, made a new base again and re-glued everything.  (And threw those crappy gems away, the ones I used I cleaned the glue off and attached with fresh glue, but decided it just wasn't worth the effort for the rest so I de-stashed).

Now for the next one: Check this out I LOVE IT

Yep its Zigs and vellum but this time its gold embossing. Just click on the photo to enlarge and check out the beauty of this.

I am so enjoying coming up with colour combination with gold embossed, silver embossed and white embossed vellum. This time I have used the teal green and I think it was phthalo blue which gave a wonderful contrast. Two greens, pale green and olive green. In some sections you can see double lines in the gold embossing as I went to stamp I partly dropped then continued with the stamping but it turned out great.

And this flower works beautifully with this gold foiled panel. I ended up trimming another mini flower to add to the first one so that it actually went over the top so it looks as though the flower grew over the top of the card. A few sparkles here and there and the gold die cut 'with love'.

I am very pleased with both these cards.

Stamped, heat embossed, Zig colouring, Die cuts -would like to
add the blue flower card 'with love' to this challenge.

Using the zigs that were not getting used, the panels for the front of the cards from Papertrey annnnd the embossed flowers on vellum that I did too long ago to remember when I did them.

Would like to enter the pink and green card for this challenge.

The blue flower card for this challenge.

So stunning! You are doing wonders with those Zigs and vellum. Still not sad I got rid of mine as I didn't ever get to a happy place with them, but I love looking at what I might have been able to come up with if I had loved them! I love the different loo with the different colour of embossing powder. It really is gorgeous. Xx

Your story about the gems is all too familiar to all of us! Oh how frustrating to have that happen to you. But on the other hand this card is amazing!! Seriously divine and elegant. I reminds me of the Art Deco period of architecture or maybe Art Nouveau with the addition of the flower.. Regardless it is amazing I just love it!! Thank you, thank you, thank you for joining us at HOC.
