Hooray Its your Day

A card for a birthday using stencils and washi tape. The tag is a blend of oranges and yellow Distress Inks. Then stamped with the sentiment. I used sheer ribbon with satin edge for the tie on the tag.
The die cut pear is actually two pears, a pear within a pear.

You can see it a little better here. The the die cut is white cardstock that I laid
gold foil washi tape on in strips first.

i then made another panel which I added a net stencil to and blended light pink Distress inks on and then I decided to add a little gold embossing paste in sections as well.

This card is an attempt at trying some different techniques and layers.
I am pretty happy with the end result.

This next is for the Daily Marker Colouring Challenge.

The flowers are being used for the first time and they come from a set from Honey Bee
Stamps. Aren't they the sweetest stamps. And this was not the full set, there is also a long strip of flowers that stay together and I have coloured that too but thats for another day.

I love this background panel, now I just need to work out how to make a card with it without covering any of the beautiful flowers. Lots of wee little stamps and sadly one wee little stamp disappeared during the making of this card. ( have you ever dropped an itty bitty stamp then spent an hour combing the carpet, moving stuff, looking in the most impossible spots in the hope that it will be found to then realise that you will survive, these things happen. Move on Aileen........I have, I swear I have, I only looked for it three......

Back to the panel stamped all over, no particular design in mind then coloured with Copics. Not sure if I want to add sparkle yet.

My goodness I love these colouring challenges Kathy has. I Love to colour and share and these are always the perfect opportunity.

Now my card

Challenges:

A new challenge for me and lots to see.

My third card finally using the topping.

i think this is a re challenge to me. Lots of inspiration.

Todays holiday photo
Aaron (Elysha's twin) Keegan and Dale.
Mason in the front row. The oldest and youngest
grandsons. Keegan is 14 and Mason 2.
Dale is my middle son and the father of Mason.
The boys struggled with the fact that Keegan is now taller
than them and spent a lot of time remeasuring. So funny.

I can see that you put a lot of thought into the design of your card. Love how the background stencil mimics the design on the pears. Your blending on the tag of perfect. A great job on the challenge and the card. Thanks for joining us at Seize the Birthday.

Oh wow dear Aileen I just discovered your blog after you left a comment on my last b-day card. I'm amazed by all the beauty I see. Your card with the orange tag just pops I love it !!! And your pretty flower scene is amazing... stunning coloring and hopefully you will find your little stamp again. Happened once or twice to me that a tiny stamp fell and yes I spent a long time looking for it, happily I could find it again.
Nice picture too of your boys :)

Wishing you a nice week-end and I will definitely add your blog to my blogging list ;)
Regards, Melanie-Jane

Great cards Aileen, I especially love your floral one. Hope your little stamp turns up - I once lost an 'E' from an alpha stamp set and found it a couple of weeks later stuck to the tea caddy! Fab picture of your boys, little Mason is a cutie :)

I had to come look at the pretty flowered background. It looks almost like a piece of chintz fabric.
