XOXO and Have a Mermazing Birthday

I could not resist making another version of this card using the same die and doing the same layout but this time including white in the collection as it should have been. I love this piece I found in my collection of pattern papers.

White glossy paper with pink flowers in gold outline. This time I used double sided tape and it ended up more fiddly actually so when next I use it I will go back to the same routine I used the first time. But I love how this turned out and think the card looks wonderful.

It's a shame my photography is so rotten because there isa lovely elegant XOXO cut from this amazing gold glitter paper that is more like material, it cuts beautifully now I have the Big Shot and now I wish I had more as it has such an elegant look to it.

This card I got my inspiration for from the Muse Card Challenge

This is Anita's card and I love it. Notice I have gone in the reverse order of colours, do you think thats a left handed thing??? Anyway I was inspired by the blended colours and the black silhouette stamping so this is what I have done.

I actually decided to use linen cardstock as I find that it handles blending a bit better than basic cardstock, especially if I am planning to flick water at it. I blended with Distress Oxides and after masking off I used a MFT stencil that I sprayed with temporary adhesive to hold it in place while I did my blending. This is a great way to hold all those fine lines in place. Blended green through to mauve then back again to get a nice smooth blend.

I then sprayed lightly with a Hero Art shimmer spray but it doesn't show up in any of the photos so you will just have to believe it has a nice shimmer. I then stamped with stamps from one of the Hero Art Monthly Kits and the sentiment is from another stamp set I was given. Finished off with some star sequins.

So quick and easy. I think My mermaid is a bit small and after seeing Ruth's fabulous stencils of mermaids on her blog craftingwhilethebabynaps I will have to get some and do this again just a bit bigger I think.

Super interpretation of my card, Aileen. The colours work perfectly for the mermaid theme and I love that you used textured cardstock, why do I always forget about mine?! Thanks so much for playing along at Muse this week, Anita x

Great card. I'm not sure, but it seems to me that the card base is navy blue? Perfectly combined with a pink and gold heart. A beautiful card, very elegant. The second card is so cute.

I love your mermaid card - but I do agree the stencil I have is fabulous and I gives great results. Isn't it funny how some cards just make you want to make them again! Thank you for the shout out :) xxx
