The Flower Challenge #31 Sketch Reminder

It's time for The Flower Challenge Reminder.

This month is all about the sketch. A very simple sketch. Now you can use plain paper or patterned. And thed add three flowers, big small it doesn't matter. I know how people think, it's like Sketch AAAAARRRR but really its a very simple one and we would love to see you there.  So after looking here off you go check out The Flower Challenge Blog and see all the inspiration from the Design team from this date and even look back at the start for more inspiration from the Design Team. Then put those crafty hands into action and make a card or two and join us.

I decided to turn my the sketch so my card is landscape rather than portrait as I had cut my pieces and realised the sizes were a bit small.

The rectangles are cut with a rectangle stitched die and were pieces I had coloured before and were in my scraps and the flowers are from a box chock-a-block full of coloured flowers that I just love colouring for relaxation then in this instance I have fussy cut them.

The orange and pink and was done with Distress Oxides and then I sprayed a bit of the Altenew Gold on for a bit of shimmer. I put the pieces through an embossing folder that has wee little flowers. Cant tell you where it's from, I don't keep packaging and some of these folders I have had foreverrrrrrr.

I am trying to remember to use them more as I am so enjoying the cards I am seeing around where people are using the embossing folders.

After gluing the flowers in place I added a 'Happy Birthday' diecut in gold glitter paper.

I had another idea as I had come across a small panel I had stamped with a Hero Art flower background. Its only a small stamp and to get the length I had I had to stamp twice and its not a perfect match up as the stamp is a rubber one so its guess work.

I coloured the flowers ages ago and the piece sat in my box of coloured in pieces. I had coloured with Inktense pencils water blending the shading.

I couldn't work out how to use it a first as I kept laying it as the large rectangle and trying vellum and coloured cardstock on top but of course the coloured cardstock covered the coloured flowers and the vellum looked washy on top. Finally thought to put the vellum as the larger rectangle - orange vellum, love it.

I have then die cut this wonderful flower three times in thick silver glitter paper and another three times in white funfoam. That funfoam I got that already has the sticky back so only needed a little glue on the silver part of the flowers. Trimmed down the stems on the two to the right. Didn't add a sentiment as I felt this was enough. I just love how it turned out and will be remembering this Sketch as it's an easy yet elegant design.

Thank you so much for coming by and I hope to get more posted soon (including some photos from the fabulous Altenew workshop in Melbourne recently).

Now off you go and check out the cards from the rest of the team.

Keep well everyone,  Aileen

The Flower Challenge #31 Sketch

This month we are using a Sketch, it's beautiful
and simple and I had no problem coming up
with a card, especially as its all to do
with flowers.

I have gone with oranges and purples with this card. A few flowers from MFT stamps called Fancy Florals but I couldn't find the link. Not sure if they are still available which is a shame if they're not as they really are so pretty. I fussy cut them as I didn't get the dies and this style is so easy to cut out.

I have used a piece of watercolour paper that I had used pale pinks and mauves on and die cut with a rectangle thin die cut for the first panel and the second panel is a scrap of mauve vellum I die cut with the same stitched die design just smaller and wider.

I have laid out the pieces in the Sketch design and added a die cut 'Happy Birthday' cut from gold mirror card. All done, so simple and very pretty and building on my birthday card collection.

Now it's time to go to The Flower Challenge Blog and see what the rest of the Design Team have come up with,  the most amazing beautiful cards for your inspiration, I do hope you will join us this month in this challenge.

Hugs Aileen
