Hello Magnolia using watercolours.

I am away at the moment and using phone data to post this card.
Had to share this beautiful card. I stamped on Multimedia paper then
watercoloured. No Wink of Stella on this card as the white I used I mixed with
The shimmer white paint and it is very strong. As you will see in the
close up.

I was doing this for the upcoming Flower Challenge then as I was adding it
to the Challenge with the other DT's I realised I had gone with
the wrong sentiment. No way to fix it as I said we are away. I can paint but
no other supplies.

Bit heavy handed with the silver  paint in the white mix but it only shows
like this when held in the light.

Here it looks fine. I added black to the red to get this deeper
red look. A very watery mix for the pale green background.  A strip of
silver washi tape, a silver 'hello' and a few scattered silver dots
and its finished. I love how it looks with that soft green wash.

Be scared, veRY SCARED

I couldn't resist doing just one more Halloween card as I had one more digital
image from Mo's. Isn't she a beauty.
I accidentally cut into the sentiment so had to improvise with the 'SCARED'.
As you can see I have been inspired.

Coloured the image in with Copics and had only the original to work from on line as it is a new image and hasn't been posted much or at least I couldn't find anything. I guessed at the blue sky colours and what to do and really really surprised myself with the end result. I LOVE IT.
Colouring the girl I did her skin very pale skin colour first then went over that with pale grey. The hair and gown are all my C1 C3 and a little C5 together with V000.

The sky colours are B93 B95  B34 and B97 . After colouring I added the coloured image to a black card base and left room for the missing word. I used some die cut letters, all doubled up to add a little height then I used my new red Rangers Enamel to add some red to the words.

I finished off with a heavy layer of Wink of Stella' for the Ghost so she has lots of sparkle.

Now I have to admit my stuff, up just so you know we all do it. For me spelling is always an issue as anyone who reads my blogs knows as I often spell things wrong. Being hearing Impaired I often don't hear things the same as everyone else and this has always been reflected in my spelling,

Add to that the English language and the fact that we often spell words but pronounce them differently. Not just regionally but also with things like letters that don't get pronounced. Take scared for example I put the letters on and it took till I was doing the post that, I was typing 'scard' and spell correct kept trying to add the E. I went and checked and realised I was spelling it wrong.

Lucky for me the letters had been attached to the black cardstock that is ridged so was easy to remove, rub off the old glue and add the 'E'.

Challenges:

I could not resist entering the Mod Squad Challenge
again with a different Halloween card.

Thank you so much for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

Awesome Pumpkin & Celebrate the Little Things

Two cards today. The digital images for todays cards come together and
are from Mo's Digital Pencil. I thought they were so cute and
a wonderful way to celebrate Autumn and Halloween.

This first one is for Halloween. I have coloured her in with Copics
And love the colour combo for the pumpkins. I didnt have the colours suggested
when I went looking so I just played around and came up with this combo
YR68 YR15 and Y38. Even her boots are done with an orange red combo.

I love the colours I used here as they all remind me of Autumn.
I die cut the image with my newly arrived wonky stitches
die from Stamplorations. I found a piece of  patterned paper that
worked perfectly with the colours in the image and die cut that
with the largest of the Wonky dies.

I attached the pattern paper straight to the card base, the next layer
I added a yellow piece of fun foam cut with the same die so I could have
a bit of yellow peeking through. Finished off with the Awesome die
and three glittery enamel dots in Halloween colours.

This next card is all about Autumn.

Same little girl so I have her in the same set of clothes.
She's out playing in the leaves and totally enjoying life.

It was fiddly but I wanted the leaves to look Autumn so each leaf is coloured
with Autumn colours, this combo worked beautifully : R17 YR04 YR15
Y08 YG01. I love the way they look.

I finished off by die cutting a bronze mirror card 'Celebrate' then
stamped 'the little things'.

Challengers:

I hope that getting the pumpkins for Halloween count as
Halloween fun. If not let me know and I will remove
link. Awesome

Smile Watercolour Flowers

I know, your looking at this photo and thinking is this the Colour & Sparkle blog??
Yes it is and yes I have finally let myself use a stamp for watercolour flowers with
water and sprayed more water on top when finished.

First I spent a couple of hours playing with different inks and colours on a large
sheet of watercolour paper so I could get a feel for what colours look good
together and which inks were easier to use.
I started out with the Altenew inks but I felt I wasn't getting what I wanted so I went
to my Distress Inks and there I felt I had worked out a style I liked.

In this instance I have stamped on Multimedia paper. Each time I have inked up
the layer and very lightly sprayed with water and stamped one on top of
the other. The hardest bit is working out exactly where to stamp and lining up
the next layer. I inks I have used are Worn Lipstick/ Picked Raspberry and
Abandoned Coral with Mustard Yellow for centres and Shabby Shutters or Crushed
Olive for the greenery.

When I was happy with the amount of stamping then I sprayed with water,
quite a bit actually till I felt it was looking how I wanted then I heat dried.
I added a little bit of Wink of Stella careful not to activate the colours again.

I finished the card off with a gold mirror card die cut 'smile' and a
little gold shimmer dot for the 'i'.

Still need lots of practice but very happy with the result. I realise its a style that
you don't look closely at and worry about the spreads and misses and should be taken as
the whole. May even try again!!!!

One challenge I would like to enter this in is about to close so I better get moving.

Hugs & Kisses and Birthday Wishes

I posted a card a week ago using the same stencil but this time I have used blues and greens and a bit of yellow.   This background was made with the leaf stencil from Winnie and Walter in different colours from the distress Inks range.

This card is 5.5" x 5.5". I used an opaque paste and
inks to colour up the paste.

As I moved the colours around the softer green and blue do tend to disappear
but are there if you look. There are also a few little speckles of bronze glitter
that escaped last night from their home and have come to rest on my card.

I love how the colours turned out and the look of the card. I decided to also use
the Winnie & Walter 'Hugs' die in silver. I layered up a couple of times then decided
to use dimensional tape to hold in place as the glue just wasn't grabbing.

I scattered around a few sequins in the same colours and thats it. so simple.
Hardest thing for me is stopping and not ending up with 50 backgrounds with the leaf
stencil in all different colour mixes.

Of course I made a few more, will share those later.

You Are Amazing, Remember That.

Today was a watercolouring day and I had lots of fun watercolouring
stamps from EunJi Jungs . They are amazing stamps and I love to stamp them.
They stamp perfectly every time. I have stamped onto Multimedia paper
which is great to use with Zigs.

This is the second stamp and I have used another but will keep that for another day.
I watercoloured with my Zigs and lots of water to keep it nice and soft, well
as soft as I can go Lol.

Of course I finished off my watercolouring with my Wink of Stella
which is brilliant for moving colour around as well. A little bit of
yellow in the centre and the flower is finished.

A die cut 'you' and a sentiment from MFT which I performed surgery
on before stamping. I removed the you that was part of the sentiment
and cut again at remember so it was in two short lines.

A piece of purple glitter washi tape (I am loving using washi tape in this way
as it adds something to the card, uses up the washi tape and save on trying to
cut straight strips of glitter paper.

Then the most daring part of all. I got some silver paint, added water then did
some flicks here and there. I have come to realise that though I greatly admire loose
watercolouring and flicks and splatters they are just not me (yet!). I appear
to be too controlled, even tiding up as I watercolour an image. But I flicked and I am
proud.

This card is for a few challenges as I wanted to participate in Loll and Bonnie's new
challenge nd have nearly missed out.

The main reason I did this card was for Becca's Hop to Stop but I must have read it wrong. I thought I still had 9 days -who knows where that came from but I just went to link and it was too late. Silly me, so sorry I missed this even as it is special.  Edit - lucky I have good bloggy friends (Darnell) to point out that the challenge is still running and so I can link the card. Who knows where I went -probably last years hop, blame it on life and all that is going on at the moment.

This I copied from Becca's Blog for you to read and will leave here.
1 in 3 women will experience domestic violence over the course of their lifetimes.
Let that sink in - 33% of all the women you meet.

And women aren't the only people who are affected! Women, men, transgender - gender doesn't matter. Domestic violence is something that exists regardless of gender, socioeconomic status, religion, education level, etc.
Purple is the color of National Domestic Violence Awareness month.

And yet, it's something that is rarely talked about in very public ways. It's something that's hidden and hushed. And since papercrafters are some of the most amazing people out there, some of you have agreed to make a card (or cards) to raise awareness for this issue. Throughout the hop, I'll be pointing to some of my other bloggy friends who've experienced DV. Together, we CAN make a powerful impact.

Speaking of amazingly awesome - ^^^ Do you SEE that graphic above?! These are all the incredible companies who've agreed to support this blog hop. 14 companies and over $500 in prizes! I can't thank them enough!

Back to me:
Last year I won am amazing price from Unity Stamps and I am still working my way through the brilliant collection they sent me.

Go and check it out, the main criteria - Purple

Along the same colour theme:

I love new stash as it means trying new ideas and playing with
new stamps/ dies/ paints/ stencils etc.

Thats it for today, I hope you enjoyed your visit and come again soon.
