Happy Birthday from Captain Underpants

It's crooked card syndrome again. I will work on this and setting up a better photo area once the colouring challenge is finished. Its sure been full on two challenges only a week apart and each going for 30 Days.
I have stunned myself with how I have kept up but I cant say I opened and used lots of  my stamps that have been sitting there for a year. I started to then of course I got distracted and then of course more digital ones were needed.
And with all the free downloads that have been made available to all us colourers covering Staying at Home and Toilet paper and thank you's to all, it's been a lost battle.

Of course we needed to download, print and colour and the pile grows daily.

This funny card is for my uncle who is turning 90 soon and will not be able to have the big party his brother and sister had as we are in lock down. So my cousin asked everyone if they could send him a card.

I bought the digi from  Dr Digi and he is called Captain Thunderpants but of course I misread and decided to call him Captain Underpants on the card.
I coloured with Copics and fussy cut(don't ask me why I fussy cut it when I have the scan n cut there and truly it would have been so much quicker to use the machine) then added a wobbler and got out this fabulous pattern paper which suited the occassion perfectly.
Typed up the sentiment and added a bit of glitter cardstock behind it.

Anyway I hope you enjoy this card

The Flower Challenge #43 Reminder Spring/Autumn

It's time for the reminder post on The Flower Challenge Blog
this month being Spring/Autumn

This is another image supplied by Bugaboo Stamps
and I loved colouring the image in.

Easy Copic colouring and lots of the palest colours used to make
the background in each square.

Added some enamel dots and a 'hello sunshine' die cut from
Stamplorations in
gold mirror card and red funfoam to bulk it up.

Same image for my second card, same Copic colouring but this
time I cut the squares apart. Added black ink to edges to make them
clearer.

I then added a layer of yellow funfoam, again cut them
all apart and added to a pale green cardbase.
Finished off with this sweet sentiment from
Penny Black ' It's the little things" in black cardstock.

Now you need to go on over to The Flower Challenge
and check out the amazing makes from the Design Team.

Again I am blown away with their ideas with these
digital images showing you how to take a very pretty
drawing but to then look outside the box and really be creative
giving you a digital image that can be used in many different ways.

Certainly given me more ideas to try out and it means my NBUS pile of unused stamps and other digital images will be waiting a bit longer for me to get to them.

Again I hope everyone is doing ok as our time in isolation continues to grow. Seeing so many deaths and terrible health and monetary struggles is just heart breaking.  For families trying to survive the loss of jobs till the economy gets going again, to families trying to educate their children at home and survive living on top of each other to older people like myself who have become isolated from their children and grandchildren and wonder if there will ever be a normal again for those of older or health risk situations.
Having a daughter with health issues that would put her at risk means isolation that is barely understood by her. Her question each morning being now when can I go back, see my friends etc.

But life does go on and we all have different issues and heartaches and I am thinking of you all and hoping we get to see a brighter future not too far ahead.

The Flower Challenge #43 Spring/Autumn

Let me start this post with a sending out of virtual hugs and best wishes to all of you throughout the world.  It's so very hard watching the news and dealing with all the heartache. Then looking at the practical side and trying to deal with new laws coming out daily from the government on what is and isn't legal.

For us John is still working as he does much needed maintenance on government housing.  Elysha is home full time as all her programs have closed and at times it's very hard to explain whats happening to someone who is so young mentally.

We also have John's brother staying with us most of the time with his dog as he too is developmentally delayed and doesn't really understand the rules and the changes daily.

I'm not able to babysit as Elysha's in that risk category and I stepped back last week. This is probably the hardest thing out of all this for me as I do love the  unbridled joy and love of the youngest ones. Not anything major I know but realistically they have been my life line this last year after all the family losses. We will survive it and my boys and their wives are wonderful putting up with my nightly FaceTime sessions.

We have made this challenge Spring/Autumn so that both sides of the world are covered. But of course I went Spring as Im never keen on the cooler months.

I decided to colour and make two cards with the same image.

Printed on the laser printer these images are from Bugaboo,  and they were very kindly supplied to each of the Design Team and Bugaboo are also offering a gift voucher for the winner of this challenge.

I love this teapot with flowers in it and enjoyed colouring with Copics.

I decided to use the Tim Holtz  deckle die. I also put a layer of bright yellow fun foam cut with the same die behind to lift that layer a bit. No sentiment.

With this image I did a one layer printed image, coloured with Copics.

Added some pretty enamel dots, again no sentiment as the image fills the card.

Having a rotten time taking photos, usually have one in each lot thats at a funny angle but they all photographed with differing heights from end to end. I tried three times then just gave up.

Okay now it's time to go to The Flower Challenge Blog and check out the pretty creations from the Design Team. Then get into the flow and make a card or two.

Stay healthy everyone and here a couple of good feeling photos
