Reminder Post for The Flower Challenge #42 Anything Goes

Okay time to share this card I made for the reminder post for The Flower Challenge

I have used Rachel Vass Designs Trio of Roses and I have gone with a different look here.

As I finished colouring them, Copics, I decided I wanted to try dots falling off the flowers.
Elysha got it straight away she said it was like they were falling into the sunlight. Its different,
not sure if its too much but for me I liked it. Then how to show this off to its best.

I decided on a yellow card base and cut the window with a stitched arch die. I then added the rose picture inside the card by working out from the outside where best to position it.

I then decided the image needed something to frame it as I hadnt thought the card idea out properly when colouring the roses. I used this wonderful frame die from Altenew and the highly glittered paper.

As you can see here it looks like a framed picture. I think it works
out okay, its different but I do like it. I have shown a couple of friends and
they have all said yes they like it and I can give it to them so I feel
comfortable with it.
I finished off the card with a gold foil die cut 'Celebrate' with the black outline.
I hope you all enjoyed your visit so now its time to go check out all the wonderful inspiration
from the Design Team on The Flower Challenge Blog. and if you havent seen it yet, dont forget to the main post and check out Joey S card, it is absolutely stunning. He is on Instagram and his cards are all so inspirational.

Remember there is a prize again this month and being Anything Goes (as long as the flowers are the main theme on the card). Ten days and counting......

Happy crafting

Another Birthday & Another Christmas

Now you have to admit I'm on a roll, because here I am with yet another
Christmas card and more colouring.

First I have made this card using another Digital image, this is another of
Mo's Digital Pencil - Birthday Sloth (he also came as a sloth without the birthday extras so you can use him just leaning on that wall).

I coloured him with Copic's and had printed him up with the sentiments you will see later that I decided to print up again for the inside of the card. After finishing colouring my first idea was to have him looking out this frame cut into the front of the card and you would open the card to see the sentiment but I wasn't happy with the end result.

The card front was too flimsy with the open window and the white coloured panel was smaller than the card which I cut bigger to allow balance. I also had the die cut frame on the image itself not attached to the front of the card. I added the OOPS.. cardboard letters then started fiddling around.

I ended up cutting out the coloured image to fit within the frame.
I added three more cuts of the frame to make it stand out from the card front more.
I attached the image to the front of the new card with no cut out front.
I printed up the sentiment again and added inside as a full insert.

'Sorry I Missed the Party'
'Happy Belated Birthday'

I tend to need a lot of these types of cards as I am well known for being late to send.

Re-attached those cardboard letters and was much happier. I love colouring in but I do seem to spend a lot of time redoing ideas to get cards finished.

This next is a digital image from Bugaboo Digi Stamps. I have quite a few of their images and sentiments as I do so love their sarcastic sentiments and images and often gave dad cards featuring Gus as he also enjoyed the humour.

A pretty little image and easy to colour with Copics. Once it was finished and attached to a card front then of course I noticed the printer had ghosted some imprint here and there that needed to be covered up.

A wonky set sentiment 'Jingle all the way' from Stamplorations. I have to say I do love their diecut sentiments and wished I owned each and every one but I am trying (not very well, but trying) to stop myself buying too much more of anything lol.
The wonky set sentiment covered a large bit of ghosting and those little snowflake die cuts in silver glitter card and vellum cover more small ghostings. Why I didn't see these before colouring and just go and print again is beyond me but there you go, late spotted and still corrected.

So we have another Christmas card to send out at the end of the year and well a birthday card that will also come in handy.

Loving the colouring challenge, always gets me working on something.

So glad you stopped by and I hope you come again soon.

Happy Birthday & Merry Christmas

More colouring  and yes I know its amazing, another Christmas card.

This first card the fairy is printed up on the card, I have coloured her with copics.
Then I decided to try adding background colour, as always I went a bit heavy handed
with the blending with the Distress Oxides and it was another of those, will I throw it
will I keep it. I decided to keep working on it and saved it.

First let me introduce you to this sweet fairy from Mo's Digital Pencil, isn't she the cutest.
Now when I decided to blend the background I ended up making a mask by using a bit of vellum that I drew the outline on. I then cut it out and added Tombow Mono glue just on the edges. Let that dry and it becomes tacky but doesn't glue down. Brilliant mask (I did try with some kitchen paper but found that a bit thin)

I ended up going over her breath with white gel pen to show the breath off better. I then coloured the flowers a bit heavier as they became lost in the background.

Now I added glue to the wings so I could stick on some WOW glitter I have and I love how the wings look. Originally I had coloured them pale and added some Wink of Stella but then I just couldn't leave well enough alone, I added white gel pen to the outlines and of course it meant they were wishy washy.
Hence the glitter and now she is perfect. I flicked water on the card front and then dabbed with paper town and once happy I added the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment layered up three times.

This card was the quickest and easiest to do. The biggest preparation is dusting the vellum so stray embossing powder doesn't stick where its not meant to.

I think I rmember correctly by saying this is a Hero Art Background stamp, clear stamped then silver embossing powered added. I coloured with my Zigs and used my Wink of Stella brush to remove some colour from each and to add sparkle.

Cut to size with extra at top to go over the back of the card. The back is where I add the
tape to hold it in place.
Finished off with a beautiful 'Merry Christmas' die cut from Stamplorations.

There you go more to ender in #thedailymarker30day and another Christmas card bites the dust.

Thank you so much for coming to visit and I hope you come again soon.

An Early Start on Christmas Cards

hi there. This year I have decided I would start early with my Christmas cards. I did a lot of colouring last year and items never made it to cards as I just couldn't get motivated. Now with the colouring challenge there are more coloured images so its time to start making the cards. Maybe this year I will actually have cards to give to people.

This first is from a set I bought from Tiddlyinks Digital images. Not all of the images I share will be available on Etsy as she has reduced the number of images for sale. Which of course means I got some wonderful images very cheap.

This card is a tall card, I have coloured with Copics and wasn't happy with the Christmas
bauble so I added glue then added some glitter. The glitter star may look a bit odd there but a smudge that couldnt be covered or removed meant a little glitter star needed to be added.

I finished off with a new 'Celebrate' die with the background cut from silver glitter and the word from white. Added the panel to a purple base card.

This next sweetie is a fairly new fairy from Mo's Digital Pencil and her name is Faith.

I decided to go with light Copic colouring mauves and pinks and love how she turned out.

I then added a silver mirror card frame and then this was added to a white card base. Finished off with some pretty mauve and pink faceted gems. So I think this makes  three Christmas cards done now so Im off to a good start.

I hope you enjoyed your visit, find some inspiration and I will see you again soon.

PS Thought I would add a few photos of my beautiful grandson Archer and he is such a cuddly little fellow. The pictures in next line are his brother Mason who started school this year and Sophie my crafting buddy who has finally lost her two front teeth.  My son Dale then next row Dale and Mel and Archer (Mel misses a lot of time in front of the camera as she is usually the one taking the photos.)

Love this sweet family and all the baby hugs.

The Flower Challenge #42 Anything Goes

What can I say but 'SORRY' I am late with my post. I got my computer back yesterday and even did a post yesterday but I got my dates mixed up, so sorry.

This is one of our most popular challenges of course, a card with flowers being the only requirement.

This month we are all using flowers from Rachel Vass Designs
And she is also providing a prize for this month with the choice of two beautiful digi images from her shop. Wait till you see the amazing cards provided by the Design Team at The Flower Challenge

You will also see the amazing card our Guest Designer Joey S has done. What an amazing colourist he is. Joey doesn't have a blog but he does have an Instagram Account and I reckon he would love to have you go look at all his amazing cards.

But before you disappear I will share my card for this month.

I decided to use the beautiful Poppy Spray I have coloured with
Copics R02, R20 R32 and love the soft look.

I then decided to fussy cut the image and add to a gold and white pattern paper.

Finished off with the 'Best Wishes' die cut that I layered up with 3 white and one gold glitter, even the little dot on the 'i' got layered.

A beautiful easy card. Now its time to go off to all those links I shared and check out all the other wonderful creations.

Thank you so much for coming to visit and I hope to see you again soon.

PS if you notice funny spelling in here that I have missed thats because Koby at 16 months really enjoys sitting with me as I type and hitting a random letter every now and then when Im not looking. He has just started to babble ( late I know but was happy to point and grUNT  for quite a while) and he sits beside me babbling non stop now, looking at me then the screen, I love it.

Two Cards Today

I've been colouring in every day so today I decided to make cards.
I got five done but will just share two today.

This first one I have coloured in this free image from Stamplorations.
I decided I would go soft with this colouring and leave some of the areas
uncoloured. Boy did I struggle, my every instinct wants to colour everything
that looks like it should be coloured.

I did try to stop but I continued a bit more than I should have but I was able to stop
before everything was coloured. I just used two soft pinks and love how it turned out.
I wasn't sure what to do with the centre heart then remembered this wonderful heart die
that I am pretty sure I got from Hero Art. Cut out in silver then 3 times in white, all glued
together then added to the front. Finished off with this wonderful "with love" from Waffle Flower.

I went with pale pink card base and added a layer of pink fun foam to lift
the coloured panel slightly. I really love how this turned out and Im so
glad I didnt go with the vibrant rainbow colours I first thought of.

Now this card is using another of Rachel Vass Designs digital images that she sells
on Etsy. Gentle colouring again this time with soft blue flowers, pale pink nail polish
and a silver braclet.

I layered onto silver mirror card then onto a pale mauve card base. No sentiment
as I couldn't decide what I wanted on it.

I'm going to add these to The30DayColouringChallenge. I cant believe its the 15th
challenge. Its like one of those things that I cant imagine not doing anymore.

All the best and hopefully see you again soon.
