Yes I've added two cards to this post. I miss nearly a week in posting
and now its lots of multi-card posts.
I just had to colour this stamp again. I love it and its so striking.
This version I have coloured with blue copics.
I finished off with lots of Wink of Stella but this was the best picture I could capture.
As you can see there is a nice sparkle there, so just imagine its all over the
flowers. I did a full die cut this time then decided to do another cut from blue vellum.
I did some additional cutting with the scalpel in some areas where white was
still showing as I wanted the blue vellum to show through. I glued the blue
down then added the next layer slightly off line to make a shadow of blue.
Finished the card off with some pretty sparkly blue enamel dots and a die cut
of 'Party Time' from silver glitter paper.
For my next card its a start in the right direction for Christmas. I was over at Maria's
blog swimbkierunandstamp where she had just coloured a gorgeous little elf.
I had forgotten I had one similar so decided to colour mine and get moving on the Christmas
run. I had been reminded that the collection of extra Christmas Cards has started. I want to get some cards done not just for family but for this fantastic idea The Caring Hearts Card Drive 2016
The link is for Australian stampers info but there is also a link there for Vera in America who started the whole idea and I think also the UK.
Its all about making a card, signing it and sending in for them to pass onto people in Nursing Homes who don't get mail. This way they get a card from a stranger but a stranger who cares, check it out. It really is worth it. And there are prizes involved. I made a few cards last year, this year I want to do much more. I love to stamp so enough talk and time to get into it.
This year with mum and dad getting prepared to go into a Nursing Home due to the quick pace of the Alzehimers mum has, has made me more aware than ever of not only the Nursing Home but the Retirement Village which is where they are now.
It has raised for me the fact that there are many elderly people out there who don't have visitors or family or friends letting them know they matter. There are so many old people out there that just like to know someone cares. Stopping to share a five minute chat, a kiss on the cheek, a hug can make all the difference in day to day living.
So imagine getting a card from someone who cared enough to make the card and send their love to a stranger. Think of their joy.
Now the card, sorry I do get sidetracked sometimes.
This card is one layer and I coloured Mo's image with Coloursoft pencils and baby oil. then I added glue to the the area where the white fur was meant to be and added glitter, lots of glitter.
I love how the orange ball turned out with the colours blended with the baby oil.
Isn't she cute.
Now since she is hanging up side down I decided the Merry Christmas should be on an angle. I cut the word from silver mirror cardstock. Still needed something then I realised she was just hanging there and I didnt want to add tree branches so decided she could be hanging from a star. The star is
cut from silver glitter paper and silver card stock.
One down and a million and one to go (where did I read that mmm-
think I did read that) Probably on all the card blogs where we are
all just starting to make cards.
Merry Christmas (without
the colour option)
Thank you so much for coming to visit and please come again soon.
